Microsoft Solitaire Collection

I've been playing the Microsoft Solitaire Collection card games on my PC (Windows 8.1) for several years but suddenly lost access to this.  Happened around the same time as a Windows update, but don't know if this was cause or coincidence.  Solitaire front page opens on screen but nothing happens.

It's not a great problem as I've been able to find the individual card games from other sources and download them, but I find them 'clunky' to use - poor display, frequent crashes etc and really miss the old Solitaire Collection.   I can get Solitaire Collection on android tablet but not on the desktop.

Always used as a 'stress reliever'

Thanks.  This had seemed like the most obvious route, but everything I've tried tells me that I have to have Windows 10 or above.

Thanks, but this seems to only work for installation on Windows 10.

Thanks this looks like a possible way round.   I'm nervous of installing anything from sites I haven't heard of, but when my son next visits, I'll ask him to look into this way of reinstalling Solitaire.

It works on my Windows 11 HP laptop, and my W10 Toshiba.

I’m surprised that you still get updates for W8, as I thought that support had ended?

Windows 8  end support date12th January 2016

Windows 8.1 end support date 10th January 2023
