/Fixed Rate Cash ISAs, can you transfer into one and open another, both this tax year?
My question is: If I have a 1 year Fixed Rate Cash ISA in Bank ‘A’ which
matures soon and once matured I wish to transfer all of the sum into a higher
rate new Fixed Rate Cash ISA in a different bank ‘B’. This sum will be above
the safety net of £85k guaranteed in a bank. I do not want to add money in this current tax year…

How to figure out tax responsibility of Child's account with mixed sources
So it has only recently (via the weekly MSE email) come to my attention that I may owe money on my Child's Savings Account interest. Child is almost 6, we opened an account shortly after his birth to put in the kind gifts from family members, and shortly after then we have also opened a regular savings account that myself…

Recommendation for easy-access cash ISA Provider (Rate + Service)
I'm planning to open a new easy-access Cash ISA. While it's easy to find lists of the best rates, reviews of top-rated accounts like Plum and Chip reveal lots of complaints about buggy apps, difficult processes, and absent customer service. I'd rather sacrifice a bit of interest in favor of a more reliable service. What…

Can I do a partial transfer of Stocks and Shares ISA to LISA in current tax year.
Hello, I am trying to do a partial transfer from Trading 212 Stocks and Shares ISA to Moneybox LISA account for current tax year. The problem I am facing is that Moneybox's app is saying that if I want to transfer contributions made in the current tax year, I need to transfer them in full for the current tax year. This is…

Confused - ISAs - One of the Banks talking nonsense it seems :/
Hi, Just spoke to two banks and received contradictory information. Google cannot confirm what I was told by one of the banks: If you have a Help to buy ISA with a specific UK bank Then the Cash/Fixed deposit ISA has to be with the '‘same’ bank to cover the remaining allowance Why can’t we do this with some other bank…

Stupid question about withdrawing ISA interest into non-interest current account
Hi, I'm thinking of doing this. There are no tax implications as it's a non-interest current account, right?

All the ISA rates go down after one year?
I have been in debt but now in a position go start saving again. Years ago I had an isa with interest rate about 4.5% I was building up my savings every year. Now all the ones I can see only have a decent interest rate for one year then go down to 1.5% etc. This is obviously less than inflation. I can't keep opening new…

LISA calculation of property value for shared ownership property
I'm currently in the process of purchasing a shared ownership property. I have a question in terms of how you calculate the 'full sale price' to see if it is under £450,000 and therefore eligible for the LISA bonus. In the GOV.UK Conveyancers: Lifetime ISA technical
guidance it states that: “A Lifetime ISA investor can…

Chip ISA and unable to close account
I opened a Chip ISA,
only to find that the Chip App wanted what appeared to be access to my bank
account incomings and outgoings. Not happy with having an App (and I
assume Chip staff?) looking at my bank account in this manor and monitoring my
life and transactions, I decided to close the account on the same day that…

Lifetime ISAs from age 40 onwards
Hello. The rules I am referring to for this thread are as follows: “You must be 18 or over but under 40 to open a Lifetime ISA.” I’m now aged 40. I have a cash Lifetime ISA and have maxed it over the past few years. It’s not for a 1st home, it’s for retirement. Do the rules I quoted in the first paragraph mean that, now…

ISA transfers electronically or by cheque ? The 'BACs Cash ISA Transfer Service'
The subject of whether ISA transfers are carried out electronically or via a cheque through the post is discussed on here fairly frequently and I've not come across a definitive answer to which banks and buildings societies use which method, until I came across this list of institutions that Cynergy will only accept ISA…

Coventry ISA maturity options - disappointing - move to virgin ?
I received my email today stating my ISA maturity options this month. Pretty disappointed really. 1yr fix 5.3% 2yr fix 5.35% 3yr fix 5.0%. The only one I might consider is the 2yr as its not too far off the best rate but I think Coventry are going to lose a fair amount of money in the coming weeks. Its a shame as I do…

More than 1 ISA question
I have 1 year fixed rate cash ISA opened April 23. I ‘upgraded’ it last week to keep money/interest in for further year and held interest rate. My question - am I able to open another ISA in May 24 now with Max allowance or does my ‘upgraded’ one from 2023 tax year count as a new one as it was upgraded after new tax year…

Metro Bank 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA
I opened a fixed rate ISA with Metro Bank last November via an ISA transfer which is due to mature this coming November. I’ve had fixed rate products before but not an ISA so was surprised to see interest paid on 5th April as I was expecting all of the interest to show up at the end of the 12 month term. That’s not an…
