Not much decluttered over the weekend but two boxes packed today and a few bits and pieces in bin and recycling bin.13

Hi everyone,
I am pleased that you are still in Bella's life weenancy. It sounds like you found her the perfect home.
Thank you for the Canadian Rockies trip Mrs SD. it is something I will enjoy immensely. Sorry for the moaning. I feel much better about it all today. I don't eat dairy as a Vegan but I felt very much better for giving it up. Much more clear headed and brighter somehow. I suspect it didn't entirely agree with me. Trees seem to be my hay fever culprit. They are just all in flower and coming into leaf, and I do live next door to a wood. Haha I LOVE being in the car as it has a pollen filter in the air conditioning. I am not affected by grass pollen thankfully. So am free to help with every one’s hay making.A couple of pics. The furniture I have upcycled for the Ukrainian lady. I have told her to get rid of what she doesn’t want. The other pic is one of the baby jumpers.Vx:19 -
Vulpix , I'm.always struck by how creative you are, and how lovely for the furniture to go to a new home.
Mrs SD I think we're so spoilt in london re health facilities albeit often long waits and also public transport. I toyed with moving out of London but decided to stay out but if I think being near family is a real pull factor.
I can now open the front door properly so will find out when dn's boyfriend could drive a van to bring belongings from new forest to mine.
Been to community cooking lesson and on the way home with roasted cauliflower, chick pea and sweet potatoe curry and nut burgers!17 -
Just popping on as its been a busy few days. I haven't managed much but did get the girls to do another half hour in their room on sunday.
DH bought the kids some sweets earlier and DD2 opened hers to a mouldy sweet on the top and refused to est any more. Normally I would just have thrown them but this time I've emailed the company in case other bags are affected.
Another busy day tomorrow so off to bed.
Love and hugs to all who need them x

I think that the more we can talk about why we keep ‘stuff’, the more we understand ourselves & eventually the easier it is to declutter or at least I really hope so 😉
Got home from school one day - I was 6 - and a sizeable amount of my stuff had been given away as we were moving house. No, no consultation with me about what I'd like to keep, just gone to other kids in the street. My parents love language was "giving stuff", (not stupidly huge amounts, there wasn't that much money) my inner 6 year old wants to keep everything to prove she's loved.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I packed a trolley of stuff for Mr F to take to the charity shop.
Went to SA to sort donations - we get approx £200 a month for the bags of recycling that I sort. I cleared the foyer but more had arrived when I went back this evening - it is never ending.
I found some clothes that I wouldn't be able to sell but too good for recycling so I walked into town with them for the charity shop.
I finished shortening the jacket sleeves - I will take it to SA tomorrow as my friend will be there sorting food for Friday's food bank. I repaired a hat for a friend.
Mr F went into town in the afternoon.
I had to do an early dinner as I had a meeting at SA at 7.
I have started on the net curtains but they are proving difficult to unpick - I need to shorten by 2 inches and will do it at the top edge as the bottom is fancy scallops.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Short_bird - I had a similar thing happen to me. My parents gave away some of my toys and wouldn't tell me where or why. I looked for my blue bear everywhere we went. I still have trouble getting rid of teddy bears. My roommate Di has trouble letting go things and I think it is mainly due to having other people come in and "clean" her house and throw things out without asking. She can't just clean on her own - that doesn't work at all. She wants to hold on to everything. We have to go box by box and talk over what she wants to keep and why. Takes a lot longer that way. Can't wait for good weather to stick around so we can start sorting what is in two big rooms (garage and ex-garage). Then some of what is inside can go out and clear up a lot here. Patience-patience-patience. We might even find the three missing library books.19

Hi all, quite a busy day today. OH went off early to visit the niece taking 5 presents + wrapping / gift bags + cards and the rose cuttings
as well as a bag full of food from the fridge and freezer so space available again
. The bed didn't get hoovered last time I changed it but I did it today and then continued with the hoover around the landing and down the stairs
. It's quite a new carpet so hadn't been hoovered many times and it is still throwing off lots of fluff so I had to empty it by the time I got to the bottom
. Had a sort through the bedding in the airing cupboard and I noticed a few things that have marks on the edges. It has been a problem in this cupboard for ages. I don't know if it's dust settling or something to do with the boiler that's in there but a few things were dragged out to be washed. Stuff that was ok has been put in sets and put into clear plastic bags, so I know what is what
, but I have a pile of washing to do. Raining here today but sun tomorrow so that will be my first job in the morning
. The sheet and quilt cover I have on now are both past their best so they might hit the rag bag after the next change and wash
. 1 LDFPA from the other day.
I have started a union thing and I have to do a visit tomorrow morning so will have to be up early. The bedroom bin, kitchen recycling, lr recycling and lr bin were emptied as well as the hooverI have also ordered some moth traps as we have seen a couple in the lr, the only place downstairs that still has carpet but I can't hoover all of it due to the various piles. After the moth attack in my wardrobe during covid when I didn't open the door for months I have kept moth repellents in there and in all my draws. The little blighters have obviously moved to the lr. Unfortunately for them this means war
. My destroyed cashmere cardigan will not be forgotten or forgiven
. I also did a small sm shop as we needed washing powder and AAA batteries, we have been sharing 2 between all the remotes for about a month
. Unfortunately I forgot to take the bag of dead batteries to recycle but they will go next time
I
Sorry I haven't completely caught up with the posts and I am falling asleep so I will say hugs to anybody who would like one and try to catch up properly tomorrow

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Oops, I forgot to set the timer & got engrossed in old Law & Order episodes whilst knitting 🙊 I have also dealt with today’s mail. Forgot to mention that DH I had the lo spaghetti & meatballs for lunch - very tasty 🤤 Dinner was lo beef sliced & warmed in gravy (I cheated & used B*sto), mashed potato & frozen green beans which I charred in a frying pan with some garlic & then steamed. One portion of lo beef in gravy has been boxed & frozen. Wudupa

Hi all, awake at silly o'clock for a bathroom visit so I have the washing machine going
@retiredinfrance the only thing I can say about telling your family about Mr rif is that when my dsis was not well, and refusing to go to the Drs, my dniece was very angry they had not been told and it did lead to quite a big falling out. All sorted now but dniece felt quite strongly about it, hugs. Glad Mr rif seems to be on the mend
@Vulpix, you are amazing, never doubt it, you are doing such a big job sorting out your Mum's house and I have no doubt it will be done in record time, hugs. The furniture is lovely, an amazing job and that jumper is wonderful, love all the colours in it
@Pennypincin I am sorry you are not feeling supported at your church. Sometimes things like that happen in groups of people. You mention others on the outskirts of the church, might they be a good place to look for friends. My feeling is not everybody in a large group will be friends, thinking of when I was at work where eveyone was friendly but not necessarily friends. I understand that you feel you are struggling but if others are also struggling it can be hard for others to support everyone. As Vulpix says maybe the invitation to help is the start of a friendship. Good luck with the exam, hugs
@TC77 yes it is lovely to spend time with friends. I am meeting up with some ex colleagues on Thursday. We meet at 4.30 and a few of us are usually the last out of the pub at closing time
. None of us drink alcohol but it doesn't seem to make any difference
@short_bird I can relate to having your stuff given away. My Mum had a terrible habit of giving my things away, there are some things I can still remember that make me feel upset and I know it wasn't intended but as you say no consultation. That is one reason I still have my teddy, the only "toy" that survived a move and I am sure that is down to my Dad. Hugs
@Florenceem you seem to be running a tailors. I know you probably enjoy the challenge but it does seem like a lot of work, maybe you could ask people for a small donation for the SA for the work you do,
Right the machine has finished swishing and I am still awakeso I will get it on the line and get another load going and a cuppa as I think I am up up now
. Hugs to everyone who would like one
Take care everyone
