@Liverpool_Anne have a lovely time on Thursday.
I appreciate people sharing their stories and how supportive the lovely declutteri are.
I've always collected some vintage crockery/glassware but put keeping things more down to when my mum died but realised sorting out charging order against my ex 1 that I had a fear of scarcity and not being able to provide for my kids, and then feeling bad that I'd be mean to them so not buying myself nice things as didn't think I deserved them.
Sorry about the ramble but have put 2 tops in cs bag before work and feel more confident that i will get there , and while taking longer with work and RL not going to let it be the only thing I do outside of work and chores.
The talk of scarves a few weeks.ago, influenced me to wear a nice.coat and scarf today rather than my scruffy (now) waterproof jacket when a sunny day.17 -

I'm about to go through the dog lead box as I know two of the harnesses are too big for my dog and they are 14 years old so they will be binned. She must have lost some weight as she has aged.
I am trying to eat down the pantry and I went through it all yesterday and rearranged the rice, pasta etc... into the clear jars so I can see how much is left. I was thinking that I wish I had bought all plastic jars instead of glass jars as they will be a pain to wrap up when we move.
I have the dentist later which I am really not looking forward to. I will take ibuprofen beforehand as I assume it will be a filling. Another library book is ready so I will pick that up first.16 -
Thank you TC, and liverpool Anne, I have always enjoyed crafts and these days happy to find a home for the finished product. I like making stuff but don't want to keep it. I don't like the bedside cupboards at all. I shall paint the tops and doors duck egg shortly. I am enjoying the Ikea table, It was a very beat up black freebie from fb.
I love Canada, I was a nanny there in the early 1980's and my son worked in Banff for a couple of years. We went to stay with him for a couple of weeks. The scenery is impossibly beautiful. He worked as a ski lift attendant at a remote part of the resort. He had the time to write a couple of books whilst he was there. They are good, but he has never had the time to do anything with them since he came back and started being a teacher. I would recommend the train trip Mrs SD, perhaps not what DS did and bike ride coast to coast.
I always intended to emigrate. We did look into it when I married my first husband. They did want me as a social worker, but you had to commit to so many years work and I wanted to try for children straight away as I was getting old! Husband could only come as my spouse as they didn't have a shortage of transport managers.
Shortbird, Mr V also had a Mother who threw his toys away whilst he was at school. He doesn't have a single thing from his childhood. He does have several sheds stuffed to the roof with bits of electricals to compensate now though.
Floreneem, Well done on shortening sleeves,a very fiddly job. We were talking about being able to sew at craft club last week. The "can you just" requests from people who can't sew and think it will be a 2 minute job.
DGS started to crawl a couple of days ago, let the fun begin! He has already enjoyed himself by having all the books off a bookcase.
The jasmine cuttings I took for the plant sale in aid of Spanish dogs aren't looking too clever. I shall wait a little longer to see how they fare. Today I will take 3 plant supports I have never used to my friend at craft club to pass on. When I have got a minute there must be more that could go from my sentry box and probably in Mothers under stair cupboard of doom. That is where all her garden and diy stuff is.
That reminds me,the hospice shop have never phoned as promised about the furniture the auction house doesn't want. have emailed a furniture project now to see if they can use it. EX offenders revamp things to sell very cheaply to the public and free for people in need.

@short_bird and @weenancyinAmerica and @vulpix 'husband: hugs!! It destroys a child's feeling of safety, of ownership, of trust when their stuff is given away without consultation. We had a lovely weekend at my Mum's and SIL's; DD2's birthday party was very enjoyable. We also learned that the house next to Mum's was sold for €465,000!! It's a terraced downstairs house, neighbours on both sides and on top, that you can hear if they are slightly loud. The street is similar to the Parkweg in Groningen, if you would like to have a look. In town houses like this, the bottom 2 windows are the lower house, to top 2 windows are the top house; they have an outside stairs and an inside stairs - both rather steep - and their own front door.It means that we cannot afford to ever go back to my hometown, and I'm a bit sad.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5915

Currently sorting out for the tabletop sale coupled with rearranging the living room for a new to me, larger television. At the "maximum mess before it improves" stage since a couple of freestanding cupboards need to be emptied before they can be moved so the TV can be manoeuvred round the corner at the top of the stairs.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

vulpix - great job on the furniture and the jumper is cute.
Liverpool_Anne - If people ask me how much - I do say they can always give a donation to SA.
vulpix - so true - people who don't sew have no idea how long something takes - especially if you want to do a good job of it.
Popped to SA this morning and sorted 8 sacks of clothing donations.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Much better.
Wow! Mr V has sorted the stuff he brought home from his daughter’s garage. A big pile for the tip and a huge amount of cables to be given to what he calls one of the old farts, old DJ's. He doesn't include himself as an old fart. Hahaha He has just said,"I have realised that I will never use it all." I have dropped into conversation for years that he needs to bring it all home from various places and re evaluate it. Yes! putting like with like works.
