Pennypincin, I would take an invitation to help as a start of a friendship. Try it and see how it develops. Perhaps the others on the outskirts of the church are trying to make friends like you are. I am a rubbish friend. I have many aquaintances and I would help anyone but I never ask for help. Perhaps you are like me and should ask for help too. Good luck with your exam. xxx:14

Pennypincin said:... feeling a bit let down that people in church are happy to support others who are struggling, but other than the maths and the occasional 'chat' with someone, I'm largely left to get on with it.
I'm taking it as a sign I'm not struggling as badly the other people, but it makes me wonder.
Especially as there seems a group that have known each other for years that are friends, with several that holiday together, and I feel that I'm on the outskirts of the church and group looking in, rarely get a message or call to ask how I am from anyone in church.
Edit to add, I'm probably too independent/not keen on the way that support can be offered or seems to be done.
And would just appreciate an invite to something every not and then and people wanting to be friends with me, rather just than from the others on the outskirts of the church.
I will get a message to ask if I would help with something though.
Thank you everyone, moan over.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

It is quite a nice day out there, well, it looks like it as I haven't been outside yet. We stayed up late again watching a film. Sea of Love with Al Pacino. My husband had never seen it before!
My husband is taking my cat to the vet later and I have the dentist tomorrow.
It is getting to the point now that I am binning stuff we don't need. I threw away my husband's old pension paperwork as it isn't up to date and you can do it all online now.
I have just filled out a GP econsult for myself, renewed one of my library books and I'm about to have a bath.2025 GOALS

tidied up my art desk - mostly so I would be able to find the stuff I need for this afternoon's class. But decided while I was at it to package up the bra I bought from Snags to return. It looked on line like it would be perfect but has the same old problem of immediately slipping off my sloped shoulders. Think I'll just a line under bra shopping and stick to what I know....the 3 pack of cotton athletic bras that I get in Walmart for $17.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thank you florenceem.
There's some nice people but just don't get the issue, or be willing or able to do anything about it.
I've tried to talk to a couple of people about it and I've been told that it's all on me despite the lack of interest from others.
I seem to get more inclusiveness at the tai chi classes I attend.Decluttering campaign 2023

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday was another dark, damp & dreary day. Still chilly 🥶 I finally got up at 12:35 DH has refilled the bird feeders & topped up the compost in the potato bags. I have been knitting & watching junk TV. The beef is in the oven slow cooking & DH & I have prepped all the veg - potatoes, parsnips, carrots & cabbage. Dinner was delicious - DH made a rich gravy & we also had Yorkshires & sweetcorn. Wudupa.
Monday is a gloriously sunny day. DH woke me at 11:15 as the window cleaner (S) had turned up. Up & dressed quickly & paid S for 2 lots of cleaning as I had missed him last time. We had a short chat before S went round the back of the house to finish off - he uses a long pole at the back but uses a ladder at the front of the house. I have had my first cuppa & will make a 2nd before settling down to do the cheerleading 😉 DSis is doing her washing - she beat me to it 😅
weenancy, thanks for the update on Bella & Mitt 👏 Sounds like they are both thriving especially Bella 😊 I am so pleased that her new owner is keeping you in the loop 😊 Hope Di is feeling better 🙏
TC77 you are very welcome 🙂 I think that the more we can talk about why we keep ‘stuff’, the more we understand ourselves & eventually the easier it is to declutter or at least I really hope so 😉 We have been toying with the idea of moving (to Kent to be nearer to DH’s sister) but only if we can find a bungalow. However being so close to public transport & great hospitals etc has meant that we have not actively pursued the idea! Good luck with the weight loss 🍀
Florenceem, you must have been exhausted after all the work you did on Friday & Saturday 😩 That is a stupendous amount of money raised 🤩 I really hope that you managed a quieter more relaxing day on Sunday 🙏
retiredinfrance, sorry to hear that Mr rif has not been doing so well 😔 Hopefully the doctors will soon work out what is happening/has happened & will be able to put an effective treatment plan in place 🤞 Sending cwtches to you both 🤗 & hopefully Mr rif will be home soon 🙏 It is always interesting to learn about the health care systems in other countries & how they are funded - so thank you for the information 👏 Well done on resisting the temptation to go to the Brocante fair yesterday 👏
London_1, your DD’s trip to NYC seems to have flashed by 😔 but very pleased to hear that she had such a great time 😊
nannywindow, very pleased to hear that you spent at least some of Sunday in the TLC Carriage 😊 Hope today’s scan goes well & that you enjoy your meal 🤞
You are welcome vulpix 😊 Excellent decluttering on Saturday 👏 & very generous of you to find so many bits & pieces for the Ukrainian lady 😊 Not particularly funny but I did have a rueful smile at your comment “MrV ….. had to re mortgage the house to buy a bottle of olive oil” Sorry to hear that you are suffering from hay fever 😔 My ndn suffered for years but since giving up dairy (combined with becoming a vegetarian) he is often out in the garden - the hay fever is no more & he also managed to reverse his diabetes. Not too sure what else he did but from conversations with him it might be worth investigating a dairy free diet which might help with the hay fever 🧐 Hopefully DS’s new job will be less stressful 🤞
Great decluttering bamboo_socks 👏 My first thought when you mentioned having lots of exercise gear was that you should sell or donate - never crossed my mind to start exercising 🤣
Florenceem, sounds like you had a quieter Sunday 🤞Good luck with shortening the sleeves on the jacket 🍀 sounds quite daunting 😥
Excellent decluttering machasraven 👏 I do hope you managed to get some rest on your days off 🤞
vulpix, sorry to hear that you are feeling so stressed about your Mother’s house 😔 As to getting the EDT (not just the TLC Carriage) abroad, our scientists are currently putting the finishing touches to the Teleportation Device & our engineers & builders have completed work on the new two storey carriage - our own version of the Rocky Mountaineer train - with a restaurant under the fully glass domed observation area 😊 I am reliably informed that negotiations for sharing the track are already completed & that the first excursion will be on on Wednesday 1st May & will last for one week. Further negotiations for other areas of the world are ongoing 😉 Suggestions are welcome 😊 vulpix you can be our first guest & you are welcome to bring your family.
Liverpool_Anne, now, now - your Sunday might not have been as busy as usual but you still got a lot done 👏 Sounds like OH needs to go on a special course - the one I mean is all about clearing up as you go along when batch cooking 😉 Less stressful for you when OH takes over the kitchen 😮💨 Fingers crossed that OH finishes tidying up & that you have free rein of your kitchen without the risk of breaking cups 🤞
I am flagging so will post this, set the timer for an hour & do some knitting 🙂 DH is currently in the garage & has already tightened the wobbly handles on two large frying pans 👏 He was going to try & repair the long handled colander but having had a closer look has decided that a successful repair is not possible 😔 DSis has hung out her 1st wash load & 2nd load is in the wm. DH has also done a bit up weeding & tidying up in the garden.
670 Broken colander added to Tip bag
671 - 673 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard packaging - recycled
674 - 675 Kitchen & lr detritus binned
I hope everyone is having a good day but if not there are plenty of cwtches to go around 🤗

Sorry to hear about the difficulties many people are facing, thinking of you all.
Mine currently are minor,
Agree like with like is the way to go and doing this babysteps.
Have my lovely DIY person making half the front door openable (narrow double doors) so I can get the dining table and chairs out at some point, and also the back door which was sticking so the cats can go out the back and easier to hang washing up.
yesterday a few things in the CS bag, including kids chef hat, 4 crockery items, broke a glass cup - amazing how far glass shatters, and also a bag out that the cats had an accident on. Trying to do a few frogs in my lunch break as working at home, and going to keep chipping away, but as I'm not doing more things, - nearly 4 hours having sunday lunch and chat with friends in a pub - (NB I wasn't drinking,) so lovely to have friends to be able to spend this time with, and usually I would be itching to come back to chores....
Going to sort the airing room/ DD2s study as working in it as doors being fixed downstairs and had to move piles of things to be on a video meeting!!

Thanks MrsSD for your kind words and everyone for their support. MrRiF was a bit better today and talked away to me. I’m having a telephone meeting with the doctor tomorrow. At the moment he’s allowed a little water and a plain yogurt as a meal. It seems the antibiotics are helping but I don’t think they know how it all started….. Of course there is now a glut of food in the house so I’m cooking tonight to declutter some of it into meals for the freezer. I’m making a new variety of ratatouille with tomatoes courgette s and a load of lettuce and other leaves before they spoil.Hugs and cwtches for everyone.xx18
