short_bird - re that theory - my Dd has told me that she needs new curtains as the ones I made in 2010 are disintegrating. I said that they had lasted well - my Dsil said - well they should for what they cost. I told him if they had bought cheap fabric - they would have had to replace them before now.

Liverpool_Anne - I will have to get a Drs appointment as Mr F doesn't seem right. He was never speedy at doing things but has slowed right down. People at SA have said they feel like me that there may be something wrong.
I packed a trolley of stuff for the charity shop and Mr F went to town with it while I worked on the sewing job - shelf covers. Awful slippery fabric to work on and measuring over 2 metres for each one took time. I was glad to finish them.
My sister is having a good declutter and bringing stuff to me as hopes it will be useful or raise money for SA. I never seem to have a clear hall way or porch.
I went to lock up at SA - raining hard and a rough sleeper sitting like a drowned rat outside the kitchen door. He was given one of the waterproof sleeping bags. For some reason he hasn't been given temporary accommodation.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

DSis and I took some bits we’d sorted from the shed to the CS. Then whilst marking time before meeting our cousins for breakfast popped into another CS where we found…our cousins! The staff in the CS were very confused.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Liverpool_Anne - like you I have been having an earache - I too think it is a sinus issue - it is not continuous.
retired in france - there was a day in hospital when Mr F refused to eat and drink plus take medication. I too wondered if he had a uti as my Dd got confused when having one.
London_1 - you are going great guns getting ready to move.

I've also got three unexpected plants - pretty sure it's one potato and two tomatoes. Not counting them in though as they just appeared next to my snake plant out of the bought compost. They're doing very well on my kitchen windowsill and I've strung up a bit of elastic to stop them falling over but the potato (if it is a potato) will have to be found a new home with someone with a garden or at least an outside space soon.16 -
Hi everyone
Sorry to hear about the poorly people on here, sending love and strength.
I went to my self-employment role yesterday; it's a role i've shared but my colleague has finally retired (age 74!) so I'm taking on the role on my own - it's part of my plan to semi retire in a year hopefully... The organisation we work for had provided a lovely buffet lunch and I took a tub with me so I brought home some leftover cake and a pastry
On the way home I dropped off 2 full bags at the CS, then called at the zero waste shop and topped up some supplies - pasta, rice, herbs etc.
Today I've been to my crochet class - now learning how to join a new colour to my granny square - really enjoying the class. I went to the SM and bought a growing herb - found a plant pot under the garden table so have brought that into the house for the coriander plant
It's been sunny and dry in this part of the NW but really cold

Roommate Di is home from the emergency room, but both feet are swollen. Taking her medication and resting. Going to slow down decluttering of her stuff for awhile. Except her cat is still decluttering papers in her room - tearing them up. Thank goodness nothing that she still needs. We will have to get her a new mattress at the beginning of the month at my favorite furniture store - good mattresses cheap and he delivers.
I have been listing the three things that have to get done each day and so far it is working. May have to up it to 4 though, life is getting hectic. Went out this morning to put more vinegar on the weeds. Going to take a lot of vinegar but I rather use that then weed spray.
Still decluttering books and puzzles though. Have a trunk full to take to the library. Can't go today because they are having a big comic-manga type fair which usually has about 3000 visitors. They bus people in from the other city parking lots. Should be calmer tomorrow. The library is now open seven days a week. So are two of the other branches. The other 4 branches are open six days a week now. The library has been getting a lot of awards - national and international ones. Proud of the the library and the current librarian - she is very actively promoting the library in the community. Gotten our sports teams involved in several programs including ones reading to the children.
Trying to bring nothing except expendable items into the house, but I did pick up a laptop on loan (so it will go out again in a couple of years!) to index the records at the local Methodist Church. It has been requested as the church is going to being a Vietnamese-speaking church and the English-speaking congregation which has gotten very small is going to a different church. So we are making sure the English-speaking congregation's records are indexed and the actual records are sent to the Methodist Archives. That way they can have a copy of the index to answer questions they receive and the actual records are preserved. That is my "summer-fall" project for a couple of mornings a week. Will still be taking classes in the summer. Taking PowerPoint now and will be taking QuickBooks in the summer to help our treasurer for the Friends.
Our weather is finally clearing up here. Though we have had cloudy weather most of April and we normally have cloudy weather in May and June. (May Gray and June Gloom) Confuses tourists who think it might rain. 99% of the time it won't. Will have to remember to water the plants again.
Hope the weather over there warms up soon. They are expecting above normal heat in most of the US this summer. We don't have air conditioning here so trying to figure out how to keep cool when the heat finally gets here. My heating is still coming on here so we are slow to warm up this year.

Just a quick check in as I'm off to bed, but I have managed to get a few more things out of the house (and some of them by DH as well!). No luck yet on the plate heater thing, kitchen utensils or a horrible old frying pan that I refuse to use... DH wants those.Absolutely no time at the moment, so if I have a spare 1 minute, then I look in a cupboard or drawer and see if anything needs to be decluttered. Otherwise I'll never make progress. Getting closer to my April mini challenge, but will be touch and go as to whether I'll actually make the random number for the month! I still feel like there's lots of "stuff" generally to go in the house, so am thinking of a mini challenge I could do for May.1 - broken piece off kitchen blind not needed (binned)
2 - coasters I don’t like (charity bag)
9 - paper reused, then recycled
5 - kids clothes (charity bag)
1 - DS tat recycled
1 - broken wok (tip pile)
1 - bread bin I don’t use (Buy Nothing)
1 - kitchen instructions not needed (recycled)

Evening All
@Liverpool_Anne and @Florenceem I've been suffering from earache since January on and off. Also suffer from sinus issues and at times the sinus pressure/pain, face ache and congestion is horrible. I've tried everything over the years and can empathise with you.
Well I have done 2 weeks in my new job now and going ok. I miss the people in my old team but not the work. New team is lovely but no banter on the team chat/email so is a bit lonely somedays and bit of a culture shock. Hopefully it will improve and I will feel settled.
DD's behaviour has been especially trying lately and school have referred us for further support/interventions. 🤞we get some support as a family.
