Morning all, not much decluttering going on here, I just don't have the energy or strength yet. I too was up early at 4am, just couldn't go back to sleep after a loo break, I have too much going around in my head.
I made myself sore yesterday as I helped bring some shopping from the front door to the kitchen, serves me right I think I'm back to normal after my op when obviously I'm not. I then emptied out the contents of my underwear drawer as it was in such a jumble and needed sorting out. 11 pieces of underwear have been binned and in the cs bag 2 new wrong sized bras, similarly I sorted my sock drawer and my nightwear drawer. 1 pair of new thick black tights, a new unloved nightdress and an unopened bar of Cath K. soap have also been put into the cs bag. All emails have been read then deleted or saved and a caravan mag plus no longer relevant post decluttered.
I shall rest as much as I can today after I hang out the small amount of washing and iron a pair of trousers which I need to wear for my scan tomorrow. I also have an MRI for the most of the day on Monday, I wonder if the hospital do B & B, I'm there so regularly lately. I will be glad to get to Tues next week for a rest !
MrsSD hugs to MrSD hope he gets his tooth sorted asap.
Retiredinfrance Mr R must be a worry for you but he's in the right place for answers, hugs to you both.
Wednesday Oh no ! Another one with tooth woes, hope you get sorted very soon.
Well done on all the decluttering everyone and hugs to those in need.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently19 -
It turns out it must have been a fragment of my tooth along with the filling that fell out. I don't know what happened to the filling as I couldn't find it so maybe it fell down the sink. My dentist isn't in today, but the nurse said it should be okay to see her next week if I'm not in pain.
I just went to pick up my prescription and I asked the pharmacist about my tooth and I bought some Corsodyl mouthwash as she said to keep it clean.
I just dropped off two books at the free library box and found one to take home with me so at least one thing went out!
I will go through the big chest of drawers today and see what I can get rid of. I will do that now.2025 GOALS

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Last night I had intended to drink the last of my coffee before going to bed but instead fell asleep on the sofa 😔 Woke up at 07:30 went to bed & have now just woken up at 13:00. To make sure I did something, anything I have completed my postal vote + I have shredded newspapers for worm bedding & emptied the shredder 😉 + the first load of our bedding is in the wm. So here goes with the cheerleading, wish me luck 🍀
657 - 658 Two newspapers shredded
Excellent decluttering retiredinfrance 👏 but it would appear that you have gone slightly astray in your numbering & are doing far better than you thought 😉 So here goes - on p157 you had 320/366 so I awarded you 3 gold stars 😊 Then on P207 you were down to 55 & on P305 you added 65 to a total of 210. SO I am updating your figures as follows: I have added the 55 to the 320 & am awarding you your 4th Gold Star ⭐️ Congratulations on reaching your first set target of 2024 🥳 The 65 items listed in your post on P305 are now the start of your second target so you have 65/366 🙂 Very sorry to hear that your DH is in hospital 😔 I am sending you both cwtches 🤗 & sending lots of good wishes for a speedy diagnosis & recovery 🙏 Your local hospital sounds wonderful 😊
Lovely supportive post Wooly_Mammoth 😊
retiredinfrance hope the visit went well & that you & DH have a clearer idea of what is happening 🙏
vulpix, your words about your grandbaby brought a smile to my face 😊 & your next paragraph “Random screws. Why,where? There was one in my bathroom the other day, just how? It must be some sort of cosmic gift exchange like the appearance of elastic bands which is balanced by the disappearance of things. Currently my new expensive veg knife has disappeared, perhaps I got a screw in exchange.” had me in stitches 🤣 “cosmic gift exchange” indeed - I will be smiling for the rest of the day 😊 A lovely idea for rif & Mr rif 😊 & I loved your welcome to & encouragement for Wooly_Mammoth. Fingers crossed that Wednesday’s visit to your Mother’s house was a successful one & that you have managed to find a furniture clearance company 🤞
Lovely post daisy_1571, you always manage to find just the right words 😊
QueenJess, sorry to hear that work still hasn’t settled down to a reasonable level 😔 Although I see that you are still managing some great decluttering 👏 I am hoping that some of our Declutterati family will come up with ideas of how to circumvent your DH’s desire to keep everything 🤔🤞
Brie, good job I was sitting down when I read the following “Oh someone stop me.......no too late......so will you be planting the tshirts in an array around the sage or in a different part of the garden? (sorry can't help myself.)” 🤣 Your entire post was absolutely delightful reading 😊
Florenceem, a very busy Monday & Tuesday for both you & MrF 👏 & I am pleased to hear that you have managed some crafting 😊
QueenJess, well done on both the decluttering & the decision to put some of your grandparents items into daily use 👏 Perhaps use the whiskey glasses as water glasses 🤔
machasraven, yippee to not going to work until Monday 🥳 Hope you had a lovely day yesterday first baking aka ‘decluttering baking products’ 😊 then other decluttering 🤞Ooh your own library 😊
retiredinfrance, pleased to hear that your DH is being so well looked after 😊 Hopefully with all the tests & constant monitoring the doctors will soon find out what is occurring & put a treatment plan in place 🙏 Meanwhile please try to take care of yourself 🙏 Please pop into the TLC Carriage as it is fully stocked with lots of hm goodies 🙂 Cwtches to you & DH 🤗
The wm has finished so I will put the washing on the whirligig as it is bright & sunny although not particularly warm.

teeth! I don’t know how celebrities endure all the work they have done on their teeth. It takes all my metel to have a check up.So I fell asleep and feel much better. How things have moved on. I have met up with the Ukrainian lady. She is here with her daughter 30. Unfortunately her daughter has lost her husband and has had a breakdown. They have been with a host family for 18 months and have now been offered a flat. She actually knows Mr V as she works at one of his venues. I have given her a bath towel and a beach towel to be going on with. She gets her keys next Tuesday. I have just been through the kitchen cupboards and drawers. 3 tea towels. 6 dish cloths. Cleaning stuff. Bin bags. Spatula. Slotted spoon. Garlic crusher. 5 mason jars. Veg peeler, all sorts. I will take Mum’s nice sitting room curtains down and wash them for her. I will be able to find stuff at Mum’s. Clock, mirror iron etc . She has already been offered a sofa and bigger stuff. She is so grateful for anything.Back to my knitting now.Take care Vx:22 -
Dd1 asked me for a radio alarm clock. I had 2 and a few months asked both dds if they wanted one and was told no. I gave one to the cs and kept one. Dd2 took the remaining one back to uni...
Does this mean I shouldn't throw things out or be more careful which means the same !
Dd1 off to buy one.15 -
No, it means they will buy (or even better check charity shops and gumtree etc) when they need something. Up to the point they need something, all o3 f you will own the correct number of things. You aren't a warehouse for just in case things

I've done more reorganising than decluttering! Bamboo, I've a cat with only 4 remaining fangs. She's 17, a complete diva, and only eats cat biscuits. Slowly to be fair. I agree, cheap can be a false economy but expensive is, well, expensive and cheeses us thrifty people off!17

Daisy, thank you, I could understand if a couple of years ago but I think January when I checked. Good advice though as I think I am.competing with whs* on the stationery front, and many others on other fronts!
Think I'm going to do something about clothes
.keeping those abit tight as I will fit them soon (optimist) but get rid of those that either don't give me joy or aren't superwarm for when it's so cold it's only heat that matters!
Going to take before and after photos to encourage myself!

@Wooly_Mammoth Bless your senior lady! My girl had a few teeth out a couple of years ago and was fine until now, the vet reassured me she would still be able to eat biscuits (though I Kay have to crush them a bit first?!)17

@Liverpool_Anne I stick the cuttings in water to see which ones have a survival instinct and start to root. Once the contenders have identified themselves and have some decent roots I pot them on into larger pots but then again 2/3 per pot and let natural selection do its thing.I’ve only had one that I’ve passed on to someone else subsequently give up the ghost. We have been in the shed, it was lovely enjoying the sunshine in between sorting and shuffling. Found a few more bits to go but I’m not sure how I’m going to fit all the living room furniture in there to facilitate the room being replastered.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
