Oh gosh RIF, I never twigged that the thread is an escape. It has been a place to escape for me for quite a few years. I have been hanging onto the nettle that is life for quite a few years now. Thank you everyone here,it's not just all about de cluttering is it.
Wooly,xx
Gave up on sleep at 5am and had breakfast. Just about to go back to Mum's, a lot of people have asked for stuff I posted online. I just leave it in the porch.

Good Morning chums (just ) been missing in action as I have been so busy for the past week or so.
Packing boxes came from Ama%%n, but i'm sure they are not big enough Just awaiting youngest DD to arrive as we are going to do the inventory for the moving company
On the upside when she spoke to them they said as there are two cars Mine and DDs we get two free ferry crossings on the day we move, so a bit less to cough up at least
My buyers surveyor came on Tuesday, and he was very thorough, but I don't mind but I did him a couple of cuppas and we chatted about his passion for cricket
I'm still finding things to declutter, but ....drum roll please one double cupboard in my kitchen is completely empty Only another 4 to go
The tinned stuff has gone down quite a bit, I donated a good deal to the local food bank, and I batch cooked another 500 gms of minced beef this morning and turned it into some cottage pies for the freezer. All the frozen mushrooms are gone now (into the cottage pie to bulk out with some carrots and onion).
On Tuesday morning my eldest DGD had her tonsils out. (she's 31)and I texted her in the evening to see how she was as it was day surgery.
She said 'Nanny can you make some of your lovely leek and potato soup please ?'.
Yesterday morning I fished out the last bag of diced leeks from the freezer, and made her some soup which I took to her house along with her favourite Carte D'or ice cream, and she was chuffed to bits as I had made a large tuppaware lidded container of the soup more than enough for several days .
Apparently today they laser the tonsils out, then stitch it, so her throat is not only still sore but she has trouble swallowing things because of the stitches, but she was told by the hospital they will dissolve by the weekend.
Bless her she's had so much trouble with bad throats for the past year or so, I'm glad its all done now.I saw my two little great granddaughters when they came home from school as well, so not much decluttering done yesterday apart from the leeks
Eldest DD is in New York at the moment seeing my grandson and family, and the little girl Daisy, who they waited so long for, actually started walking yesterday aged 9 months, and I'm so pleased for my DD as she was there to see her first grandchild start to walk.
I don't think her and my son-in-law could have picked a better time to be there.
I'm trying to use up some of the nice smelly candles that I to have found in the cupboards and the Christmas one has just finished in the kitchen so thats another thing out of the way.
I have one going in the sitting room, one of my grandsons bought for me and it not only smells nice it crackles like a wood burner. It's called Natures Wick by Woodwick and smells of vanilla, I'm thinking about the packing of glass jars with candles in hence why I'm using them up.
I have someone coming in the next few days to look at my stair lift that they are needing for their parents so that will be another thing decluttered as in our new house the stairs are only 6 shallow ones then a landing and only a few after that also shallow so I won't need it, plus of course my stair lift is a straight one so not practical for the new house. But i'll be glad to see it go to a good home.
Right, time to get the kettle on for DD as she will be here shortly
Onwards and upwards chums

My husband has the date of his final day at work! We just had another estate agent round to give us another valuation and it was exactly the same as the other one. He took some pics of the interior of the house and will come back and take pics of the garden when we have repainted the decking. We might just go with this one as he said he would give us a discount.

Good morning from a grey, overcast IofD 👋 Forgot to mention that I paid the milkman before I went to bed 😉 Up & dressed before 11:00 as are DH who has a dentist appointment today & DSis who has an exercise class. My intention is to finish knitting the scarf & take it from there 😉
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne especially the 4 LDFPA 👏 Congratulations to the mum to be - your friend must be so pleased 😌 Sorry to hear that your other friend has been sent home 😔 You would have thought the hospital would have learnt its lesson the first time 😞
charlies_tribe, what a lovely way to learn about a future grandchild 😊 I did have a wry grin at the idea that DD1 was “… a bit annoyed at herself though as she was desperate for a summer baby this time and now we have a December addition.” Excellent decluttering 👏 & I like that your large cardboard box will have a 2nd life 😊
Welcome aboard Wooly_Mammoth 👋 so lovely to meet you & I am loving your ‘turn of phrase’ 😊 especially in reference to ‘him indoors’ 😅 A great start to your decluttering journey 👏 My vote is to reenact Scrooge mcduck 😂
Steady decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 & well done on repurposing the wicker baskets 👏 Hopefully your husband’s meeting went well 🤞Good luck with today’s valuation 🍀
Florafauna, a lovely welcome to machasraven 😊 Well done on fitting in some decluttering whilst being so busy at work 👏
I am being so slow with the cheerleading that DH & my DSis have just left for their appointments (12:25). Rather than persevere I will post this & come back a little later when my concentration is better🤞

Slow start to the day but decluttering wise
other pillow in bin
84 emails deleted
8 old bottles of tonic disposed of
2 obsolete electrical items waiting to go to tip.
I stayed up far too late last night so that's why the slow start.
Dinner is in the oven slow cooking away - duck and shallots think I will do a 5 spicey sauce with it.“HUMAN BEINGS MAKE LIFE SO INTERESTING. DO YOU KNOW, THAT IN A UNIVERSE SO FULL OF WONDERS, THEY HAVE MANAGED TO INVENT BOREDOM. (Death)” - Sir Terry Pratchett19 -
The t-shirts I was given, I've decided to not keep and put them in the new charity shop bag I've started.
I've found a jar of caffeine free coffee alternative that I'm not going to be able to use, but have rehomed.
It won't be rehomed for another week though.
Edit to add I've several café style net curtains and several normal net curtains I'm going to more than likely add to the recycling WhatsApp group at church in the next couple of days.
I will need to buy some more nets as the ones I had up were too long or wide and replaced with some that fit and I have no spare for when they are in the wash.
I am debating about having blinds put into the bathroom and kitchen, plus also need a curtain pole or rail put up in the living room, plus a new one put in the bedroom once it's redecorated and will need new curtains for both rooms plus spares and I can then donate the old ones.Decluttering campaign 2023

@vulpix "I have found that Mum has so much saved for best. A full drawer of new tea towels. She just used the same half dozen. I just don't think it is worth storing things until the things in use wear out. I think I would rather have the space." I have found that I bought some tea towels to replace the 'old' ones, which then stayed 'serviceable' for another 5 years! Good quality cotton or linen stays good for so much longer than I expect! In the end, I just added the new ones to the pile I used; it showed off the shabbiness of the old ones and the decision to demote them was much easier. We have finally hung up the 2 floating shelves in dd1's room; she has filled them and got rid of everything else. So much space! (Husband had mislaid the drill bits, so he had to buy new ones. I asked him to buy proper branded ones instead of the discount no-name ones we had, and he bought Bosch. Excellent; I only want to upgrade if we buy new.)Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5919

Last three of this weeks online auction sales have gone. Books went back to the library... But were replaced. I also left a back of too-small uniform for my friend's little niece, but forgot the summer dresses that were the whole point of me doing a drop off. Argh.
My oldest cat needs to declutter some teeth. I think (and hope) it will be covered on the insurance, I could do without having to find that kind of money now!16
