Hi, new babies, how lovely. My son phoned last night to say thanks for his birthday pressie and the baby,8 months was shouting in the background, what pleasure that little fella gives just by being.
Random screws. Why,where? There was one in my bathroom the other day, just how? It must be some sort of cosmic gift exchange like the appearance of elastic bands which is balanced by the disappearance of things. Currently my new expensive veg knife has disappeared, perhaps I got a screw in exchange.
Hi, Wooly_Mammoth, you do right. We, the declutteratti seem to be of the mind to only throw stuff away as a last resort. When I first started getting rid,I sold and saved over 3K, we went to Turkey with it.
RiF, I am sorry to hear about Mr RiF, it sounds like he is in good hands. Here's hoping he is back in the fold soon.xx You should get him a map for on the wall above the bike and record his distances, he can cycle the length of France without leaving the house.
I know what you mean about just starting to say things. Everyone is so lovely here that it's ok. My trouble is that I often post when I am very tired and that doesn't help me.
We are off to my Mother's house shortly. We are now on the large kitchen diner, gulp. It is the last room, but it is so full. The under stair cupboard of doom, a massive pine Victorian cupboard the size of a double wardrobe, full, a Welsh dresser ,full and then of course the kitchen cupboards. I need to phone someone who does furniture clearance. It is just too much for me to try and sell it all myself. There are some lovely pieces but neither I or any of the family need anything. Hopefully I will be in a position to get an Estate agent to value it soon.

ThanksWednesday 2000 and Vulpix. Your messages brought smiling tears to my eyes. Yes, everyone on here is so kind. Just decluttered two chocolate biscuits with my coffee. I do understand your Mother’s house, Vulpix. My mother in law’s was the same - clear and tidy on the outside but cupboards crammed full. And then we discovered th bungalow had a roof space……
Much cheered by your and Woolly Mammoth’s messages, off I go to visit and it’s cold but a lovely day to look at the countryside. X17 -

Work is still completely nuts and I am trying to keep my sanity as best I can. Day off today and been to Ikea to pick up a shelf for DS (it's now in DH's pending pile to put up as I am inept with putting up shelves), made pizza dough for later, white chocolate chip muffins and a loaf of bread. I'm just having a cheeky sit down before I have to contemplate taking DS to swimming.Struggling very much with the kitchen declutttering. The kitchen makes me feel stressed (which is impractical given I like cooking and spend a lot of time in there) because it is too cluttered, but also probably needs a slight reorganisation. But trying to weed out the things we don't use seems ridiculously hard (plus I have to pass everything past DH who tends to want to keep everything). I am hoping some inspiration will strike soon, otherwise I'm just using up some food overstock very slowly.I do have a pile of books to go, but until I file them into a charity box/bag to go, I won't be counting them.Physical:

Do you thing all these women are/were actually related to my mom?? Huge farmhouse in the countryside which we started clearing when she went into assisted living 18 months back. Every time I talk to my brother who is living there he's on about what he's discovered in yet another cupboard, some of which I never knew existed. Another load of tax records from 1972 going on a big bonfire, who wants this painting dad did in 1963? and does anyone want to discuss mom's amber daisy and button glass collection?? Oh and next time anyone visits can we talk about all the furniture that is still in the big barn??? Yes including the big wardrove that ended up being used as a nests for 3 generations of turkey vultures......I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. On Monday someone had brought in lots of donations at SA so Mr F and I sorted them - big job.
Mr F toddled off to town with stuff for the charity shop.
I did some crafting and finished some cards. Then I put elastic in Dg's cricket trousers
I got another trolley of stuff ready for the charity shop.
We both went to safe guarding training at SA in the evening - apparently you have to do it every year as a volunteer.
Yesterday I took the packed stuff to the charity shop as Mr F is getting very slow in the mornings. I called at SA on the way home.
I packed more stuff and Mr F went into town with it - I am finally getting to the end of stuff brought into the house!
I went to SA to sort donations and then went into town. All the volunteers in the charity shops know us - I took stuff to 2 of them while in town.

Found something at last! Decided to get rid of 5 matching coasters I took from my grandparents house after my nan died. They are expensive and lovely, but not really my style and really too small so I don't ever use them. I've kept some of their glasses though which I should really use as I haven't yet. Lots of memories in those, so they stay and I will make sure they start being used. Shame I don't drink whiskey or brandy or something!Physical:

Today I decluttered my last work day until Monday. Why oh why do people email from 4.45 when you are trying to finish everything. It was quiet when I logged on lol.
1 cardboard box into recycling
1 finished book into library(yes I do have a little room turned into a library - this is where I basically live)
Tomorrow is baking and decluttering as I have the whole day to do it! also have to take car to garage to pump tyres up as I have a flat one and have AT tyres so a small pump cant manage it.

Thanks Daisy_1571 and Brie. The visit went reasonably well in that I saw the doctor as DH hadn’t a clue what was said when the Doctors came round in the morning. She was very good, explained the situation- he has been told he will be in at least a week- the don’t know what’s happening and it will take a lot of tests and it takes time to evaluate the results. She thinks it’s some kind of metabolic issue and patience is needed. Yes, he was seen very quickly in AE, put in a bed there ( in a room!) and now in the halt - emptyMedical section , in his own room with en suite . Plenty of nurses with time to answer questions. We can’t believe it! He is a bit despondent but …… Anyway they are doing lots to help him and I’m very grateful for that.Brie- there must be a gene somewhere in these DMs -I think it has been inherited by DH. Sadly he collects boxes whereas hisDM collected nicknames which we sold.
Just having another coffee and chocolate biscuit and then back to my book.
Hugs for everyone. And thanks for reading . I can feel the comfort rising up from my phone. X16
