Hi all, well 4 LDFPA today and another load not quite dry on the maiden to finish off. Spent a silly amount of time on the union thing which I will have to finish off tomorrow. Most of the washing today was bedding so that has been matched up with pillowcases etc put in clear plastic bags and back in the airing cupboard
. 1 pillow protector binned. I did some more weeding in the garden and checked on the tadpoles, loads and they are growing fast
. Had a coffee over the fence with ln who is still recovering from her cataract surgery, she says her sight is still unclear and suspects she might need follow-up laser treatment but it will all have to wait as she is going to have a hernia op next week. I am very tired after being up so early and am having an early, for me, night so I don't just fall asleep on the couch
.
@Siebrie it is sad when you realise you have been priced out of the market but you might one day be able to move nearer considering all the work you have done on your house, though that does seem a lot of money for half a house. It is probably on a par with the silly cost of housing in London. hugs. I know when my dnephew sold his 2 bed flat near kew he got a stupid amount of money for it. I could never afford to go back to the town in kent where I grew up but I am happy where I am
@short_bird I often feel I am at the maximum amount of mess stage but I find it resolves itself into manageable chaos after a while before I pull something else apart
@Vulpix, I have to agree the bedside cabinets look much better now. I enjoy making things but have got to the stage where I don't need anything so I give them away as well
@Brie my dnephew was in Toronto last year, he thought it was one of the nicest places he has ever been to
@weenancyinAmerica hugs, hope you are feeling better soon
@QueenJess well done on your challenge, I never doubted you for a second
@wishus I bet you can't wait to get your bathroom back
Right off to sleep now, hugs to anybody who would like one

Tuesday was another bright sunny day & the temperature rose to 18C 🙂 I was up by 11:00 but was still half asleep 😴 so will drink my cuppa then see what transpires 😉 DSis headed off to her exercise/breathing class @ 12:35 & DH went out an hour later to P.O. then on to the barbershop. Meanwhile I have done nothing but knit & doze 😔 & did that all day. Sausages, mash & baked beans for dinner. Wudupa.

Today was a long day. Up early to feed cats, register me and Di for summer classes, then wake Di up so we could go to health fair at our school. Ended up there for two hours. Signed up for food delivery box, and was in line to get a new phone, but had to take off for an hour to take Di to appointment to get her ankle brace instead of the big boot. Went back to school and after two hours finally got my cell phone (it was free). We were also given a half gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, two bags of rice, and a bag of oatmeal. Went home, Di fed the cats, and then we went to FamilySearch Center. We were discussing leaving early because no visitors had come in, but then someone showed up. I spent a couple of hours helping her with some research in Derbyshire. Before we could close up, one of the people also in the building brought us a dozen cupcakes and a couple dozen cookies for us to take home!
They are predicting rain again for our weekend. Almost never happens in May. Today at least was a clear sunny day, but windy. I may have gotten my weeks supply of vitamin D as I was outside for over four hours. Tried to keep my arms in the shade, but may have a sunburn on the back of my neck. I took my walker with the seat so I had a place to sit down at least. Still cleaned up more then three items in the kitchen (closer to fifteen).16 -
Got out of work last night to two 'item not arrived' requests on the auction site. Unfortunately, both a bit early for the respective carriers to look into. It's the first time in a while I've had a problem, either as a seller or buyer, why do I feel so bad about it?!
Must clutter my brain with knowledge about sociology today, I have an essay to write.13 -
Nothing to feel bad about @bamboo_socks people are impatient and I bet the items will arrive very soon. I’ve had people chase me when there have been postal strikes. There are only so many tactful ways to say ‘you paid for Royal Mail delivery……and now they’re striking. I have no control over delivery at this point’.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@florianatwobob Very true - I think we've got very used to the "next day" culture when really it's all human beings, who are not infallible!14

Hi all, life is very full right now but I'm packing boxes and getting rid of more bits and bobs as I go. Hoping to declutter my brain over the long weekend15

Good morning everyone 👋 Wednesday is a duller, overcast day at 09:00 but already 14C. I am in my dressing gown & have my first cuppa. Straight into cheerleading:
Wednesday2000, good luck with the dog lead box 🍀 & I hope the trip to the dentist wasn’t too painful 🤞
vulpix your up-cycled furniture is wonderful 🤩 & it is so generous of you to pass it on to the Ukrainian lady 😊 I also love Canada 😍 The first time I went was on my own in 1996 & I was based in Banff - either walking or using buses to get around. The 2nd time (2002) DH hired a bike in Seattle & we rode into Canada & toured B.C. & Alberta. Having said that I hope you & MrV are all set - the Teleportation Device is currently charging up & departure time is set for 13:00 U.K. time so that we arrive in plenty of time to catch the sunrise in Canada at 05:50 local time. I am getting quite excited although the weather forecast isn’t particularly great - cloudy with some rain. Congratulations to DGS for starting to crawl 🥳 mum & dad will be run ragged 😉 Shame about the jasmine cuttings although fingers crossed they will perk up before the sale 🤞
Siebrie, very pleased to hear that DD2’s birthday party was a success 😊 Although very sad to hear that you are priced out of returning to your hometown 😔
short_bird, fingers crossed that you are soon past the stage of “maximum mess before it improves" 🤞 Enjoy your new larger television 😊
Brie, I see that I have put the cat amongst the pigeons 😂 Sadly just a ‘virtual trip’ to Canada 😉
vulpix, the bedside tables look so much better now 👏 Congratulations to MrV on his light bulb moment 🥳 Years of reminders from you have finally worked so very well done on your persistence 🤩
Pennypincin, fingers crossed that everything comes together to enable you to return to Canada 🤞Meanwhile our virtual trip is due to set off at 13:00 BST & you are very welcome to join us 😊
Well said vulpix 😊
Brie, how wonderful to grow up near Niagara Falls & to visit Canada once a year 🤩 You have a head start on our virtual journey & lots of memories to call to mind 😊 Fudgeoos sound interesting & tasty 🤤
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 Sounds like your preparations for moving are fully on track 🥳
I will post now to give everyone a chance to get ready for our trip to Canada 😉 The Teleportation Device is now almost fully charged, the buffet car is fully stocked & the glass-domed 2 storey carriage has been coupled up between the last two carriages being the Baggage Car & the Open Carriage (with netting to stop people falling off). We will be setting off in just over 2 hours 😉

I would like to go to Canada too. I have hardly been anywhere as we had so many rescue animals over the years and it would have cost a fortune to board them.
We watched Insomnia last night and it wasn't as good as I remembered compared to the older Pacino films I have watched lately.
My husband got paid today and he got a lot extra, he thinks it was a payrise that was backdated. Very helpful to add to the cost of moving house when we do. It was weird looking at the calendar for May and thinking he only has a few pay cheques to go before he retires.
I went to the dentist and I need to have a filling done tomorrow. She said I must have knocked out the white filling while I was flossing even though the silver filling is still there.
I just threw away some vitamins that got out of date and I put the boxes into recycling and it feels quite sunny and warm out there. All the rubbish and recycling went out too.
2025 GOALS
15/25 classes
18/100 books11 -
17/52 - broken Dyson parts to the small electricals section of the tip.
18/52 - a light bulb, random wire and an old sky box to relevant sections of the tip.
19/52 - a very large cardboard box to recycling. I'm so pleased with the space in the cupboard this has created but why did I keep it there for so long!?13
