No you have just implied I am not telling the truth!

One reason for bringing up my tariff is that I suspected it might get you worked up into a frenzy.;)

However can you not contemplate the possibility of a 'Hidden Tariff' caused by a computer glitch?

Take this hypothetical situation. Someone on an obscure E10 type tariff living in Scotland who decides to pay by Standing Order and not DD and the computer defaults to a 2006 tariff?

I look forward to this clear and unequivocal proof that you have promised. You can say what you want in the meantime to try and cloud the issue/deflect/obfuscate, I won't respond like you clearly want me to. I know your posting style well enough by now to know when you are apprehensive. And you really are apprehensive now. Sleep well.

the selling method and charges are not clear cut.
Utility Warehouse prices are on their web site. One can even sign up without going through an independent distributor. So I do not see how you can claim that selling methods and charges are not clear cut. You may not understand them but that's just a lack of education with regards to the company and how both it and independent distributors earn money.

    So is this claim:
    Our members can benefit from:
    • The UK's cheapest standard gas
    • The UK's cheapest standard electricity
    • The UK's cheapest standard dual fuel

Now that is just nonsense, so why trust anything else the web site tells us?

Indeed - do not believe websites. This one, for example, tells us that Quentin has been thanked 6,170 times. Obviously untrue. I don't think even Cardew has the patience to thank his buddy that often.

I notice that, once again, nobody has taken up my offer at a sensible discussion on the merits, preferring to talk nonsense. Pathetic.

In my case the rep who contacted me was VERY KEEN to do a quick deal with no info, basically wanted my address, meter details and whammy with that promised the earth. I would not give my details till researched it myself to verify her claim as she had quoted me no prices !!!!!, hence as you are correct I found out the rep was not telling the whole story hence the rude email from rep with a lot of words starting with 'F' and I believe also containing 'O' hhhhhhhmmmmmm:rotfl:

Took me a while to stop trusting people but thankfully I wisened up to uw in time.

How was I originally approached by uw?

Showed keeness to them on a forum and got pmd by a rep wanting to promise the earth. Rep was upset I said the email was misleading as they were not cheaper than eon who I was with at the time and eon is one of the big six. The next reply was worse than the first and I believe rep got a slap for trying to flog via pm.

Just goes to prove that no one should ever sign up with a sales person (or distributor in uw case) They are only after a bit of commision.

If you want to compare prices you should do so in your own time using a comparison site.

That's the way to do it!

You will find that there are unscrupulous people everywhere, these include those that are just rude too. Utility Warehouse is like any other company out to earn a profit and they will attract some unsavoury characters. You had a bad experience, I didn't.

IMHO, comparison sites are just a guide and should not be trusted implicitly. Get the best looking ones and then check the actual cost per unit from each before making a final decision.

Don't be silly, thay would involve people taking responsibilty for themself, that doesn't happen very often. People sign up for things without correct and proper research, then see they can get a better deal, then whinge! I will say this, if you do sign up with UW and then see you've made a mistake, you can at least leave without paying a leaving fee. This wasn't the case when many moons ago an eager Npower salesperson told me they were the cheapest and I signed up on my doorstep - I learnt from that mistake!!
