for some people they are on standard gas and electric , standard pat as you go phone (for home) and standard broadband - those are the ones who would `benefit` from UW ; those like us who have the savvy to search the internet for the best options by shopping around will oviously find better options by doing research - but for some people they dont want to do that.
just look at how many are still on the standard tariffs.0 -
Don't ask me why it is but the lower the user of gas and electric the more chance that UW could be a good deal for you - especially if you also take the broadcall and/or one of the mobile SIM only deals because you then get exactly the same bonus as higher users - namely 24/7 inclusive phone calls (including 10 of the top international destinations). I can't imagine a low gas/electric user who phones their friends/relatives abroad regularly is going to make UW much profit tbh but who knows? Not that the city seem worried - the shares are now trading at nearly £7 each, valuing the comapny at £468 million!!0

I note TalkTalk are in the process of increasing their line rental from £12.60 to £13.80 per month. I believe they also increased prices in May (they seem to follow BTs increases all the time). Still, always worth paying that bit extra to benefit from TTs famous customer service.0

For the same reason that you don't pay your wages to someone else to make them happier.
What a ridiculous question.
Just because a product pays a commission to the salesman, that doesn't make it inherently bad. Get a grip and stop trying to make the product look bad from whatever spurious angle you can find. Better would be to just say "well done, you saved another family some money".I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I have never said the product is bad. What i have an issue with is that salespersons always make out that the product they are selling is the best available, when they are not in the majority of cases. When making the customer happy did you look into any other companies products to see if they could save even more money with a different company? or did you only promote your product so you could get commission?0 -

Are you claiming you have never purchased a product in your lifetime who's price may have included some sort of commission payment? Have you ever bought a car, house, mortgage, loan, replacement windows, insurance? etc.0 -

As i have said, i have nothing against a product (or for that matter people receiving a commission). But meeper has acted like they have given them a great deal when there are better deals available. Im sure meeper wouldnt have mentioned there are better deals available elsewhere, so that they can gain some money for themselves.
In an ideal world, if someone came up to me and said these are the phone and broadband packages available for a variety of companies which would you like? i would be alot happier dealing with them.
Out of interest i have just looked at a different companies packages available and for £7.75 a month cheaper they can get near enough the same package that UW offer0 -

Thanked instead of quoted - have that one on me.So as you have singularly failed to answer my question, can we assume that you actually have purchased products that have contained an element of commission? And did you ask them for the commission they received to be paid back to you in these instances? And did you also ask them if there are better deals from rival companies and if so what are they? And can you honestly claim that you ALWAYS purchase the cheapest product out there? No idea where you work but I'm sure wherever it is offers either a product or a service, or both. Can i have your assurance that should you ever discover the same/similar product/service can be had cheaper elsewhere you would proffer your resignation immediately? Or at the very least tell potential purchasers the absolute truth when they ring up?

Ok, let me clarify my point on sales persons and commission based job.
I think sales persons are ideal for the lazy person. Where i can i will always do a comparison on what i am buying and how it stacks up against the competition. I will then try and gain something myself from that via a cashback website or even contacting the provider directly.
I am sure i have bought a product where a person has gained commission from it as in certain circumstances this in unavoidable. e.g. buying a car.
At the moment i currently work as a delivery driver and i have no influence in persons buying anything other than to ensure a quick delivery. I have previosuly worked for BG as a customer service advisor and left that job due to being misled that it is not a sales based job.0 -

Did you ask for the commission back and also did you get the salesperson to confirm that there were no better offers from rival car retailers at the time?
And how can you be sure your company offer the very best rates to the companies they deliver for? Have you looked into it? And do your company's salespeople make it their duty to tell prospective clients of other delivery companies that offer more competitive rates?
I'm sure you know where I'm going with this. You are basically asking Meeper to do what no other company representative would ever do. So I'm not sure what your motivation for doing so really is, apart from creating controversy. Or maybe you haven't really thought this through enough before posting...0
