  • My mother used Aquashield on her roof..........cost her 5K........they blasted all the pointing out the top of the roof before painting it with whatever. First heavy rains, water came in, spoilt decor, and had to get local roofers out to repair the damage. Indoors still needs redecorating.
    What a waste of money.
Contacted Aquashield about it and they never responded. F****** cowboys.

  • my advice is cancel . I used to work for them was the top salesman the product is good very good but only if applied properly they dont do this slap it on one coat and go there is no aftercare dont exist this company knows me and they know i dont like the business ethecs or lack of them. My advice cancel and if you feel it needs doing get an expert in get more than one

    dear ex aqua-man
you're not by any chance the same sales person that i singed my contract with! I've been trying to get them to come and start work on my house (since they've cashed in the cheque) for the past 4 months without success. Now reading the additional posts to this thread I'm happy that I didn't however i'm not going to let them get out of returning my deposit. The last stunt they tried after saying that the contract is too low and they need to put the price up from £3500 to £5500, then saying they're not responsable of what thier representatives say!!!!! is to say that the contract has been cancelled and as it's been canceled after the 7 day period they cannot return my deposit.
Lets see what the FairTrade association (which they belong to) has to say for a start and then we'll take if from there!

Rude and untrust worthey people no matter how good (or as it seems bad) their products are!

No2aquashield. I follow this thread with great interest, having being in this industry (once uon a time). It never ceases to amaze me that these guys will do this kind of thing, whilst fervently chasing those who do try and cancel within the given cooling off period. I guess you paid 25% up front. Even with a deposit £1000, I would expect you can still get the job done for a remaining balance of £2500. I have spoken with a chap from what I have discovered to be one of the UK's original 3 roof coating companies (going back 12 yrs) who has said that eve the new thermal reflective system can be done correctly for around £20 mtr: He also said he get s 10-15 calls a week from people who have been quoted £35-60 per sq mtr by the above. This 'customer friendly' company recently complete a roof that the AQ-rep had said was 490mtrs (actually 350), for £7000 where the Aq rep had quoted £32,000 reduced to £15,000 as a special offer. One thing to point out about this whole ream of stuff about roof coating , is that (for example) the trend for UPVc roof line products, double glazing, etc etc is riddled with a shocking and extensive price gaps, with some of the largest and most well known names really far too expensive due to the use of commission only sales and fitting staff. Go for the throat.... they will bottle out sooner.

You would need a roof, garden and field of em to get anything over the 9kw you need to brew up. Why not just turn some stuff off ? :rotfl::beer:

Don't consider using this company, without also asking for qotes from other companies. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. Like many others, we allowed ourselves to be taken in by this company, being led to believe that we were being given a bargain. It appears that the costing of the work is a set amount per square metre , which may be good news if your roof needs a great deal of work, but not good news if your roof is in good repair. In our case, our roof had only been pressure cleaned 3 months prior. The total man hours to set up equipment, clean , point and coat our roof was 12 hours. Our initial quote was £4,960 , reduced to £3,200 if we agreed to be the first in our area to sign, and be a show house. Like suckers, we agreed , but at no point in time has any advertising board been placed in our garden.
We have since had several estimates given for our little roof, and the maximum we would have been charged is £1,500 . A high quality paint would have cost us us no more than £300, add to that 12 man hours , (allowing for overheads) at £40 per hour , making a total of £780.
The men who carried out the work were friendly and efficient. We cannot fault the work they did.The staff in the office of the Washington branch were very polite when we called , as were the staff at head office, Glasgow. The people that I am most angry with, are myself an my husband , for having allowed ourselves to be fleeced.

I have had a pretty rubbish experience of aquashield. Trying to bully me into buying the product over the phone and when I said no and cancelled them coming round for a quote the area manager rang me up and shouted at me for wasting his time!! Rude bullies who are very unethical - don't go near them!
