  • see now that makes me laugh ,,,,,,, washing a so called leaky roof with a pressure washer :):):):)
  • 1) Sitting Bull and his arrow makers had a meeting, "We have been using Arrows to kill our enemies for 6000 years, arrows have always worked, and remain the only way we will ever defend ourselves, kill buffalo and scare the white men who now come here with their new technology" he said. later that day someone shot him.
    2) A Slate miner once made slates, 200 years he made em, cos slates were best for roofing, then some smart**se invented concrete, and Slates R Us went bust even though everyone said that Concrete Tiles would never work or catch on.
what sort of idiot would put sand and cement tiles on a roof.
    3) Then someone found oil, invented carbon based materials, improved and developed technical coatings, and found that if you coat a concrete tile with this coloured stuff, the water would not get through the surface and continue to make the surface stay in place. The roofer s and the tile makers don't like it, but hey.
Anyone paying more than £20 a meter to clean, repoint, replace tiles add fungal wash and coat a roof, should STOP, DON'T SIGN and look for other roof-coaters on the web.

of course why didnt i think of that.
its a conspiracy by the roofing tile makers to stop the coating industry.

(oop north we call it the cowboy industry).
    Get some gorm.
  • just had a visit from this company they were quick to try to get me to get a quote even when I told them I don't buy any thing at my door. I'll not be bothering.

Here is how my roof looks 2 weeks after completion of the work (one rainy day was all it took to start washing the coating off), the were paid in full the day the work was completed because I wanted to aviod the 'hassle'.

    got to:

delet the spaces and change 'dot' to '.'

I have asked several times on the phone and via email to speak to a senior manager and so far have not been able to. Emails have gone unanswered, I have been cut-off on the telephone.

There are several variations on the Aquashield company, if you look on the Companies House website you can see that several of them share the same registered address. There are around 20 Aquashield companies registered, 5 dissolved or bankrupt. It seems as though this is the type of thing that unreputable companies would do to escape liability.

Be very careful and if you hire them, don't pay until the work is completed TO YOUR SATISFACTION ie after it's rained a few times.

By the way, I have contacted BBC's Watchdog show via their online webform and would appreciate any other unsatisfied Aquashield clients doing the same thing!!

I see they made sure the pointing on the ridges was sound and changed any damaged tiles before applying the coating!!
    Quality.

I can tell that was sarcasm huh Lewie. I have other photos on my flickr photostream that shows the broken tiles and sections that they missed coating completely. None of this was obvious from the ground and it wasn't until after a rainy day and the large strip down the LHS becoming obvious that I took photographs and saw just how shoddy the work was.

It's a dry day today and at 11.15am no workmen have shown up, no-one has called from Aquashield.
