We also had work done by aquashield, worst decision we have ever made in our lives - had quite a few problems.
We've now ended up getting our roof retiled - now I can relax without worrying about water getting in.
Got a letter with regards to getting compensation, no harm in trying is there. Watch this space0 -

Yes I have the number ! got a letter today its Freephone 0800 988 8822 ! , they are sending me the "paperwork" but to be honest with them wanting 25% will try and do it myself !!0 -
Do it yourself, I contact GE Money who my finance was through and they are sending me out the form to fill in and send back ASAP. I expect a no from them, but this can then be escalated to the Financial Ombudsman Service, the reclaim company will also charge VAT on the 25%, which will make it up to 30% of the money you get back.
Don't do it through the reclaim company. I just said to GE Money that I heard that the product the company used failed in what it was supposed to do and that under Consumer Credit Act 1974(as on the paperwork) I have some protection through them as supplier of the finance, and I wanted to see about this protection, and as I understand there is a claims company willing to take on customers to carry out a claim on their behalf. Lenders don't want to deal with the claims companies. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
I just got a full refund from GE, no need to go through any lawyers. All it took was a few letters written to them, a roofing expert sent to my house to confirm the job done was not up to standard then had the offer of having the job redone or cash settlement. Was pleasantly surprised as I thought they'd make me a derisory offer and I'd have to haggle a bit but got the full lot back, six years after the 'paint' was applied.0
