They keep going by targeting the vulnerable and gullible.
They do as many jobs as they can under whatever name they are trading as.
They then go 'bust' so that when the calls start coming in about poor workmanship, leaks, peeling coating etc etc etc they can just ignore them LEGALLY. (Ltd companies should be banned).
They then set up again using a different name and 'different' directors, once again hiding behind the Ltd guise.
This goes on until someone does something about it (don't hold your breath, backhanders go a long way in business) or they earn enough to retire comfortably.
One 'good' thing will come out of this for the likes of me, there should be plenty of roofing work available in a few years time.

as above. trade for say 3 yrs and go bust. then start all over again with a new company.
its not the limited company system that should be banned, its the directors who flout the whole system.

Some confusion in the selling' or understanding what roof coating does. it does not seal the 'roof', but only covers each individual tile. there is no adhesion from tile to tile, and they can still move, slip, etc in heavy winds etc:Not withstanding, AQS seem to out of the picture for now, and are now selling solar panels at crazy prices.
Just about every other coating company in the UK has staff/management that worked for them, so beware, the theme is set for poor quality, high prices and useless waranties.

If there were no such thing as the Ltd shroud to hide under, there would not be any way of flouting the 'system'.
Directors should be held DIRECTLY responsible for the mess some of them leave behind.
It is the Ltd farce that allows them to 'own' the company and skim the profits off the top.
If you think about it, it would have been a con man with a good brain that thought up the system in the first place.
Those that are legit and honest would have little to fear form what would be a more open way of trading.
We have a very well off chap in our village, massive house, lovely cars etc etc, most know how he got his wealth.
Had it not been for the Ltd con he would either not have been able to profit from others misery or he would be behind bars.
Just my opinion of course, but to me it's a no brainer, if you have little responsibilities if the company goes bust and you have no morals then why would you care??

if you stopped the ltd company and the plc method of forming a business, then there would be no/few businesses larger than the corner shop, left in the uk.

Are you saying that if Ltd didn't exist that there wouldn't be the companies we have now??
They would still exist, they would just be run differently.
This thread is all about such a company.
The system is rotten to the core.
It is the reason we have so many 'fat cats'.
People should not be allowed to 'run' a company and divert profits to their personal bank accounts via hugely inflated 'wages'.

Can anyone tell us why, not only Aquashield but the whole roof coating industry get away with paying only 5% VAT simply because they claim the coating has thermal properties? Roof spaces are vented and there are gaps between every tile. If it was as simple as just coating the tiles don't you think this would be done by the manufacturers? It's estimated the roof coating business is worth £100 million per year. If only paying 5% VAT this would be £5million when it should be 20% and £20million. This means that the Treasury is losing £15million and the customers are getting conned as there are no thermal properties.

You can't say that, it says the product does have thermal properties and is the best thing since sliced bread, so there!!

You coat your tiles in a thin layer of goo and low and behold, the gas company ends up owing you as your house is so warm you have excess heat to sell back.
