Hi all
Funny day today, started with healthy breakfast (2 slices wm toast with low fat hummus, a bowl of strawberries and blueberries).
Then I went to the Natural History Museum where they had a Nettle day, all things to do with nettles, including spinning weaving and knitting nettle fiber, nettle as medicine, and of course nettle as food.
I attended a talk about how to cook nettles and there was a tasting at the end, where I ate a lot of the tasties on offer: nettle and feta pastries, nettle fish cake, nettle tartlets, scone with nettle jam, and victoria sponge with cream and nettle jam. Not what you would call "low-calorie" but the tasties were small (except for the HUMONGOUS slice of victoria sponge!) and healthy too, by the sound of it, so no problem
For dinner I am going to do the squash and red onion lasagne that Rockie 4 inspired me with, as I got all the ingredients in, except for pesto, but I have basil, garlic and pine nuts so I shall make that myself! (Change of plan from squash and chickpea curry!)..
Meanmarie, I hope you feel better from having eaten more than you were hoping to, yesterday. Please do not feel disgusted with yourself, we all do it occasionally - look at me and nettle tasters LOL - but we all need to love ourselves and stay positive! (((HUG)))
10past6, I hope you will try the frozen grapes and like them, I never get around to do it because I love grapes so much that I eat them all at once when I buy them!
Taplady, lots of us having squash tonight, great minds think alike!
ME well done on your loss, slow but sure does it! Keep up the good work.
Rockie4 I am so envious that you can make your own curtains and blinds, today at the nettle event I saw some Nepalese fabric made of nettle and with incredibly beautiful pattern, that someone sells in the UK as a charity, and the price was £15 per metre - if you saw that fabric, it was incredible value, I bet that in a posh shop it would go over £30 per metre! If I knew how to make blinds I would have bought it there and then, as I need roman blinds for the front room and that would have been perfect!
Anyway, here I go to cook the Rockie4 Squash Lasagne, love to all

Reporting in...Hope you've all had a good weekend.
Breakfast was soaked oats (well, they got about 2 mins today!). With mango.
Lunch, healthy! Made hm coleslaw lightly dressed, veggies and hm garlic, herb cheese dippy thing, fruit salad and a little hm banana icecream. I needed some fortifying, as had to take dd bra shopping  not very MS at M & Sas it had to be a halter neck special to go with evening gown. She seemed to con me into a nice pair of black undies too. How did that happen? I need bras too, but didn't feel up to that today, would rather go when it's quiet.
Have just had cauliflower cheese with bacon and some roasted veg, That was nice. Other Ivies had pasta, but I thought I would rather have veg.
When I update my signature you'll see I've run out of grocery money for this month. I definitely don't need anything this week as far as I can see, so want to see if I can fix up another week on a minimum amount. Should only be fruit and veg. Maybe a 4pt milk as well."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Oooooooooooo, I'm afraid the grapes never made it to the freezer  like you, I just can't resist them, guess I'll have to purchase a double portion next week :rotfl:Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Hey folks
:T to all doing well and :grouphug: to those that are struggling.
I've not posted in ages - I've been catching up with the posts everyday - but with recovering from op - trying to work my full-time hours last week (didn't quite make it!) and pottering in the garden when it wasn't raining I've not had time to post!
I weighed in on Monday and lost 1/2lb (I put a 1lb on week before) No real hopes for this week apart from staying the same - I have no idea how you guys eat so little - I eat like a horse (have the thighs to prove it!) but I can't eat any less or I get light headed - been tested and don't have any glucose/blood sugar probs.
Anyways, I've loads of tomato plants and peppers in my little mini greenhouse, also loads of squash plants, my lettuce leaves are peeking through and my spinach is growing like mad - I'll be like popeye soon :rotfl: - so hopefully I can start eating out of the garden soon!:T
Good luck with any weigh ins tomorrow (including me :rotfl: )0 -

.
I eat well too, cant cope with going long between meals as like you I get light headed(been tested too) so I tend to eat every 3 hours or so. I have to admit to feeling quite greedy when I see what some of you get by on!:D
well done to M.E :T and to Iainz:T
Caterina - sounds like you had a great day out! Hope you enjoyed the squash lasagne, sounds nice but I dont eat garlic and have never had pesto:eek: not even sure what it is:o

Evening All
Am back from sunny Wales (even managed to spend a couple of days on the beach).
Have been soooooooooooo bad whilst we've been away. I blame my DH, dragging me into all those lovely little bakery's everywhere. I really didn't want to get on the scales this morning, I'm saving it for tomorrow. I have a feeling I've probably put back on all that I've lost and possibly even a bit more
. To try to soften tomorrows blow I've been good today and even did 2 hours in the garden trimming hedges this evening.
I'll try to catch up on the posts but there's 10 pages (and that's on 40 posts a page), maybe if I get a few hours to spare.

Hi all
Don't seem to have much time to post but I am still here:hello: . Some fantastic losses this week ladies, well done all of you!!:T :j
Apart from scoffing a whole packet of Bahlsen bickies on Friday night I've been pretty good. Went holiday shopping with sis yesterday afternoon... she's off to Majorca in a couple of weeks. We did stop for a coffee but just a normal one and no cake to go with it:A
Pottered this morning. It turned out beautiful this afternoon so went to the local garden centre with my friend and her 2 girls..... some beautiful stuff there but verrry pricey. Nice to look and dream though!
Food today has been....
B- weetabix
L- ham salad sandwich, yoghurt
D - lamb chops, salad, new tatties, meringue nest with warm stewed apple and a tiny bit of cream
snacks - 5 haribo fried eggs off the girls
Toni - I started off 9 stone 12, 9 stone 1 at the mo with weigh in tomorrow.... I'll update tomorrow night!0 -
Hi everyone!
Considering the scientist type people say you need to consume 3500 calories LESS than normal to lose one pound in a week, that means I must have consumed 8750 kcals less in my daily diet since Wednesday - er... I don't think so:rotfl:
Well yes, but the important thing to realise is that this is an average. A pint of water weighs 1 1/4 pounds. I've always tried to weigh in on a Saturday as Friday night usually involves my share of a bottle of wine and I know that I'll weigh less if I'm slightly dehydrated! :rotfl:
Fluid retention because of TOTM can also have a huge impact. So (in my house) can uneven floorboards. Sometimes I move the scales about to get a better reading!
So go for the average. I plot a graph of my weight. Over the period of a few weeks a trend becomes apparent. That's why I don't usually post my weekly weigh-ins here - I know they fluctuate quite alarmingly. Take the average over a few weeks and the scientists will be right.
(This is also why a one day binge has little impact - so don't worry too much about the odd doughnut. A three day binge might, though - so don't have a doughnut every day.)If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0 -
i so deserve to be fat. Eaten sensibly Mon to Fri then gets to weekend and pig out an choc cos hubby away playing golf and feeling bored:mad:   So no good news for me tomorrow then i guess. Why do i feel the need to pig out at times? And even as im doing it im thinking you shouldnt be doing this you a re fat and that makes you feel down - put the choc down and get a grip - but i cant !!!!! Im fed up drawing a line under it and moving on to a new week - ive got a whole ruled page now and no loss to show for it - maybe i should just learn to like the fatter me instead."With no money you start to discover your own inner resource" GK Chesterton2 adults, 3 children0
