Weight loss the old style way part 3.

Hi everyone!
Well, I didn't get through my X factor audition - didn't think for a minute I would:p. What a day, I got there at 7.15am and at 4.30 pm I sang for 1 minute and the lady just went - 'its a no, sorry" and off I toddled home!:rotfl:I sang in tune and was happy with my performance so I just didn't have what they were looking for and that's fine by me!
Anyway, the meal on Saturday was much more successful! And yes to everyone who thought the trifle sounded delish - it was nomnomnom. Its not really a weight loss kind of recipe but if anyone wants me to post it anyway for the times when you need a treat, let me know. The menu was Goan as that's where my Dad and his wife got married and the meal was for their anniversary. The whole thing was lovely, Good Food magazine comes through again!
I wasn't on here yesterday so I've just had a quick read through everything - Congrats to losers :T I noticed Toniwotty, M.E and Nix (sorry anyone I missed)
(((HUGS))) to anyone struggling (mhe)
My plan for today is:
B - banana shake
L - going to my mums and she's on SW at the mo so she's doing a SW recipe quiche with salad
D - fishcakes and salad (My dad bought HM fishcakes with him when he visited. His father-in-law used to own a chip shop and he still makes his fishcakes to order even though he's retired - they're THAT good!)
Out to the pub for the usual open mic night tonight, one of the regulars sadly died two weeks ago (he was the one who set the open mic night up in the first place), so we're having a special night to remember him which means I have actually learnt some songs instead of just getting up and winging it like we usually do! Who needs Simon Cowell?!:rotfl:0 -
Morning all - hope everyone had a good weekend.:j
Didn't get on here at all yesterday as am not feeling right. I know I am not well as I AM OFF MY FOOD:eek: and that never happens. Can't put my finger on it - general queasiness yesterday, ate a yoghurt and some roast dinner, but didn't eat all that.
Still not too good today but am hoping to improve as day goes on.
Nothing else much happening so will tune in later. Congrats on the losses so far this week.

As soon as my back is turned you start dropping the LBS like the absolutely MARVELOUS peeps you are, well done :T :T :j :j .
Life's been a bit of a whirl at present. DS1 came back off his hols in Cuba and had a fantastic time, wants to go back as soon as possible. DS2 arrived home on Thursday as his best friend had just become a dad. He and his wife have a beautiful little girl and DS2 will be her godfather, Ah! DD and her OH took me to see a litter of chocolate Lab puppies on Saturday. They've put a deposit on a little male, another Ah! Then DH and I went out with friends for the day yesterday in our Land Rovers checking to see how the greenlanes are doing and if they need any clearing. It's his birthday tomorrow and we're off to Chester, having a meal out and a meeting in the evening to talk about the afore mentioned lanes. If they get too overgrown they become unusable and too low for horse riders. It gives the boys a chance to be all macho with their chainsaws etc.
Also found out that DS2 will be posted to the Faulklands in November so won't be home for Christmas. Just thankfull it's not Irac or Afganistan.
DD is off on another wedding dress experdition with her bridesmaid today and tomorrow, giving Mum a break. So I plan to bank up the potatoes, put up the bee houses and pot on various veggies today with DH's help. He's on holiday this week, so fingers crossed for the weather.
I've had dreadfull cravings this past week but managed to opt for the healthier nibbles, just! Just hoping the resolve holds at tomorrows meal out.
RS if isn't any use, when going through the menopause I had palputations too and sometimes felt quite faint while they happened. Hormones all over the place have alot to answer for. Also large amounts of sugar could trigger them off too. Boiling hot and heart going like the clappers. Thank god that's all over. Just another thing for we women to get through, no wonder we're so strong and hold the family together :T.
Must dash DH champing at the bit to get thing done, bless him!

Hi all,
Had a crappy meeting this morning which meant that not only did I skip breakfast, I also ate a Tunnocks wafer thingie. Could be worse I suppose but I am just fed up.
B: Tunnocks wafer biscuit, and apple and pear
L: Big salad with feta cheeseQuorn cottage pie topped with sweet potato mash with cabbage, carrots, broccoli and peas.
Might have an iced skinny latted if I am still fed up later. Funny isn't it how one person can make you feel rubbish even though you know they are wrong0 -
Afternoon everyone, hope you are all well. Weighed in this morning and I'm 10stones exactly - so that's a 2lb loss! Woohoo!
Was dreading it, as was out on Saturday night for a friends birthday, and though I didn't overeat I drank loads of red wine...have been trying to stop drinking altogether, so feel a bit depressed about that. However, I felt so ill on Sunday I only had a milkshake and a wee bowl of macaroni cheese (comfort food = dairy, lol!). Did go for a run, think I may have still been a bit drunk but my running partner forced me out of bed!
Anyway am chuffed at the loss, my next mini goal is to lose 7lbs by 16 June (4 weeks from today).
Food today: B - tea, a boiled egg & a slice of buttered toast
S - fruit
D - cold sliced ham, cheese, salad & boiled baby potatoes.
Water - aiming for 2 litres every day this week
Exercise - just off to do my Davina DVD.
Bye! Jlynncsf0 -
Do you know, mhe? I was just thinking how silly I am! I manage fairly well during the week, but at weekends I'm just really 'bad'. Not in a big bingey sort of way, just constant lowlevel 'badness' that mounts up so quickly.
Hmmm, good thing it's Monday! Having soaked oats and taking nothing in to work but a flask of coffee and maybe a satsuma.
Well that didn't work! I was actually bothered enough to go down to the caff and get some biccies. WHy? they were very nice, but v expensive!
Having lunch of leftovers now, roast veg and cauli cheese. I think there's some fruit salad.
Leavers' dinner at dd's school this evening, oh joy oh bliss! I hate those things,.
Editing.... lunch went wrong, had some banana icecream with the fruit salad and realised the nutella jar needed scraping out. Now feel rather eerrrrrggghhhhh!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
Trying not to waste food!:j

Hi all
A quick one as I need to do some work in advance of my evening meeting!
Well done losers, Toniwoty if you go on like this you gonna be really slim really soon! Well done all!
Taplady, sorry to hear about your IBS, hope you get better soon.
In the end last night I did not make the squash lasagne, just roasted the squash and had leftovers soup (chick peas, bits of potato curry, a bit of last night veg and lentil soup), and it was very nice. The kids weren't having dinner here so I could not be bothered cooking a whole lasagne only for the two of us.
Here's today:
Gotta be careful today, work meeting in the evening, will have to factor in 3 jaffa cakes like last time!
Breakfast: tofu, red onion and mushroom stir fry with 1/2 tsp olive oil, 2 small slices wm toast, grapes
Lunch: Pasta with tomato sauce and grated parmesan, salad with 1/2 tbsp olive oil, mixed berries.
Snack: banana, orange, apple
Dinner: (planned) Frylight omelette with asparagus, steamed potatoes, steamed cabbage and carrot, low fat fruit yogurt
Snack at meeting: 3 Jaffa cakes
Done an aerobic class so I feel that I can sustain the 3 jaffa cakes without too much damage!
Love to all

I'm not hungry at all today, which is a first. Have had my corn on the cob and am drinking a low fat cuppasoup... no urge for my proper soup, or for dinner tonight really (sure that will change by the time I get home though!) x0

I have no idea how you guys eat so little - I eat like a horse (have the thighs to prove it!) but I can't eat any less or I get light headed - been tested and don't have any glucose/blood sugar probs
.
Hi Lainz, what sort of diet plan are you following? I am on Slimming World, and a lot of other people here too, and you can really eat like a horse, and lose weight in the process. I am NEVER hungry.
My downfall is the cravings for not-so-healthy snacks, and excess olive oil in my food, but really cannot complain about the volume of food I am allowed to eat during this plan.
Best of luck

Hi all
I am new to this thread. I started weight watchers the first week of April. I have now lost 16lbs and off to another weigh in tonight. It has been going really well, I am motivated and have even worn a pedometer this week and made sure I did over 10,000 steps each day.
I have lots to lose (at least 5 stone) but already starting to feel the benefits.
My question to you all is if you could help me with a low fat three course meal. I am doing this plan with my mum and it's her birthday in June. I always cook a three course meal each year and in the past it has been digustingly fattening foods.
Would you have any ideas/receipes to make up a three course meal low in fat but still looks great and tastes great.
Help would be much appreciated.
Well done to you all, weight losses have been great)
