Are you saying you got just the £106 system with NO monitor at all?!
Herman - MP for all! :)
  • further to my post yesterday.

got the call from dell today after ringing them and emailing them again and demanding an urgent response. the computer is being delivered in 10 days at the cost of £212. ;D
  • I missed out on the 2400 for £106 deal but managed to order 2 dimension 3000's, no monitor for £136 each. Got the e-mail requiring me to select monitors and left it at that. Having being inspired by the success some other people have had tonight I replied to the e-mail requesting details of the cheapest monitor available. Had a call within 10 mins with a 17" monitor for £105. Result :D 2xDimension 3000 80Gb Hard drive 512Mb memory for £482!! It might be worth anybody who got a cheap order on contacting them.

  • after emailing Dell again with a breakdown of what I ordered totalling £106 they rang me and said it was £146 with the £40 off not £106. She was having none of it when I informed her they where wrong and asked why other's where getting them at £106. she said each order was different.
So I told her to stick the three PC's up the Khyber pass.

What a terrrible outfit Dell is and why oh why do they choose to use call centres from India or any country that has difficulty in speaking clear and understandible english.

I lost count of the times I asked to repeat what she said.

I'm also being charged around £146 instead of £106. I've emailed them and pointed out the error - no response, surprise, surprise! >:(

Yes finally I have the elusive PDF for my Dimension 3000's. What a caper eh? Got 2 calls yesterday (spoiled or what?) and after agreeing to the 17" CRT's got the go ahead. I know two kids who'll be pleased as punch this Christmas and they'll have no idea of the palaver that went on!!!
Thanks for the initial post and good luck to the rest of you still embroiled.
Named after my cat, picture coming shortly
  • Well I emailed and asked for 15" TFT and they rang almost straight back. Could get one for about £140 (using discount) so would be about £246, ordered 2 systems so came to about £493. Asked several times to confirm final price and then asked for confirmation by email. Great Stuff!!!

Well the elusive PDF comes and what do you know. . . . want to charge me double at £986!!! So ring back (using UK number) first call suspiciously gets cut off by sales advisor. Try again, this time spend 45mins going around houses, the extra price is apparently VAT + delivery!! So two monitors cost £986-£212=£774 especially when had free delivery anyway. Even spoke to a manager who kept changing his argument. Suggested I cancel order and start again (yeah right), I suggested to sort it out and ring me back and told them if debited my card I would telll CC company it was fraudulent transaction. That shut them up....
Not holding my breath for the call back.

Noticed Dell are doing the 2400 + 15" TFT for £471 on the website at the moment, hmmm!!!
    Cheers
    Jon
