Did any one recieve a 10% off all monitors code inside the box of one of the other Dell computers?

You have to ring on 0870 152 4879 and say the following pasword "My Dell S&P" the offer is not available online.

It must be worth a try.

    Dear Dell

I have received your message regarding my order where I have chosen not to select a monitor. I would like to confirm that this is not an error, it is a deliberate choice. One of the reasons I chose Dell is the ability to customize my order to my requirements. I already have a suitable monitor from a previous computer and do not wish to replace it.

It would seem that you are telling me that your build to order system is not as flexible as I had hoped. While I fully understand that you may wish to ensure that customers are informed that they have not included all the items to make a complete system, forcing me to buy something I do not require is not acceptable. I would expect Dell to give customers what they want in order to stay ahead of the competition, forcing customers to buy things they do not require will only force customers to look elsewhere, to suppliers with a greater customer focus.

With the concern that a majority of the population have over environmental issues you are trying to force me to replace a perfectly good monitor with a new one for the sake of your making a small extra profit on the sale. Disposing my current monitor and the manufacturer of a new one that is unnecessary is not what I consider an environmentally aware company. Increasingly consumers are making purchasing decisions on the environmental credentials of the companies they deal with. This kind of behavior is not going to win you customers.

    Dear Customer,

We are writing in regards to your recent requested purchase for a Dimension desktop on the Dell UK webstore. The monitor option that you selected requires selection of a 17" LCD TV that you neglected to select. If you would like to add this option, simply reply to this e-mail with confirmation and we will add that to your order and continue processing. The cost of the LCD TV is £390.00 excluding VAT (£458.25 including VAT). Alternatively, you can choose to change your monitor selection to one of the many monitors available for purchase with our Dimension systems. The full list of monitor offerings and prices is available for you to view online.

We look forward to your response. Please note that we will be unable to continue processing your requested purchase if you fail to choose a monitor or LCD TV.

    Many thanks,

    Dell Internet Sales Team

  • Finally someone has replied to all my emails and a phone call too asking me if I want a monitor, cheapest at £105 inc VAT.
Now it's been so long I've forgotten the spec of the Dimension 3000 offer. Did anyone keep a copy?

Are they still considered bargain PC's at £343?

Is this monitor a reasonable one?

    Any help gratefully received. TIA

  • Sorry - I think the total cost is £243 for the 3000 with 17" monitor not £343 as I previously stated.

  • Did anyone find out what model the "cheap" 17" CRT monitor being offered for £90 + VAT was? Does it colour co-ordinate with the rest of the system?
