    Hi stargirl :)

I've added your query onto the thread now to keep all these in one place.

    I hope you've found an answer :)

  • Hi

    Thanks for advice.

Have just looked at one on Argos site

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4225647/Trail/C%24cip%3D42001.Kitchen%2Band%2Blaundry%3EC%24cip%3D42101.Small%2Bkitchen%2Bappliances%3EC%24cip%3D42110.Blenders%2Band%2Bsmoothie%2Bmakers.htm

Looks and says it has a covering on the blender which protects pans against it. It's a wee bit expensive and comes with food processor that I don't actually need but has anyone got one of these? Appears to be the only one that has such a thing.

    Thanks again!

  • I had a Braun one for 20 years and wrecked it mixing emulsion paint. It still works, I just can't get the paint out of the nooks and crannys, so it lives in the tool box now. I bought a Tesco Value one to replace it in the kitchen and I have had that for a year or so now. It works fine but the end bit has warped through putting it in hot soup. The Braun one kept it's shape no matter how hot it got.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D
  • Braun again - really basic but 6 years & still going strong...
  • If anyone was still thinking of buying a Braun hand blender, there is a nice one at Amazon 50% off, it has the extra whisk and food processor here:

I think you might have just voted yourself into the job!!! Is that the retail park by MR Smiths? I know where they all are just not the name of them!! Just been to LAkeland today and my mum treated me to the Bamix handblender as a birthday gift - hope its as good as you say or i'll get you at STarbucks:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Loving the blenda mhe. I'm amazed with the little bowl thing, I put in 4 cloves of garlic and it chopped without any bother. Not that I needed it for garlic, but was just seeing what it would do. DS (14)made passata from a can of toms, he thought it was fun to have a play with it. I think I'll have to watch where the blades get put, they're small and could be mislaid.

Which Lakeland did you go to? I was at CHeadle and it was heaving, cars parked down the road. I was daft to go in half term, but the blender died!

Yes, Borders in the place by Mr Smiths, just the opposite side of the roundabout.

I also went to Cheadle - wasnt too bad on thursday. Think ill order the beaker to go with the blender on line, Not had chance to use it yet but plan to make soup and cakes over weekend and just mess about with it in general!! I love the stand - im going to keep it out on the workside in between the BM and SC cos i think ill use it more that way rather than hiding it in a cupboard.

LOL! mhe, mine's between the BM and food processor. I have always been one for trying to keep counter tops clear, but I agree about using stuff that is out. I decided not to bother with the beaker, I have a tall narrow mixing bowl that came with my first hand mixer, it was an extra to the normal size one. It's too deep for present hand mixer (how can that be?) but fine for blender. My previous blender came with a beaker, but it was too small for mixing anything much. Have you tried the whisk/beater 'blades' yet?

I made a vat of spicy red pepper soup yesterday - whizzed the whole lot in the pan with the mincer blade in 30 secs - wow!! I also like clean worksides but i dont think OS does them very much!! I need to move house and have a huge utility room that can house the BM SC and other essentials!!!
