Well it finally died on me yesterday. I inherited it from my great aunt and it must have been over 20 years old. So now I need a new one mainly for making smoothies. Any recommendations? I did see a cheap one in Argos, a Cookworks one for around £10.
    Thanks

Braun are a good make. Having said that, my Cookworks mixer is years old now, so I would guess their blenders are probably good too.
  • Hi, take a look at the thread here. I have a Braun handblender and it's superb!

  • Thanks, Penelope. Was just about to look for this thread so I could merge them. Done to keep the answers in one place to make them easier for others to find.

i got the basic braun number after recommendations on here, for 9.99 from robert dyers but they are giving out £5 vouchers too at the mo, I had one soit only cost me a fiver. Cheaper than the tescos one and WAY more sturdier. When im a millionaire Ill buy the snazzy expensive metal one, until then a fiver will have to do!!!

  • Hello!

My first post after months nay years of quietly reading everybody's wealth of experience.

My hand blender is my can't-live-without gizmo and the one I have at the moment is great, it has a large chopper attachment and a whisk and lots of different fittings.

BUT it's stainless steel and I have just received a lovely new swanky set of non stick pans. The booklet with the blender says it can be used on non-stick pans - but the pan guide says not.

SO I'm wanting to get a new one (shall EBay or Freecycle other one) that can definitely be used in my new pans.

I would like the large chopper thingumy cos that's great and I would like quite a powerful motor cos it will come in for some serious abuse!

Anyone got any personal recommendations? I don't mind paying a little more for the right one.

    Thanking you all in advance

    Stargirl
