I received my new halogen oven from IdealWorld yesterday and I am so chuffed. I had bought a small one after my Idealworld one went back for a refund but I couldn't get away with it. The racks kept slanting to one side with the bowl being rounded at the bottom. Also I found the top rack was too low.

A number of posts have said that the Halogen thingy goes. Can this be replaced?
    Keep on trucking!

No, it is wired in and I doubt you would be able to buy a replacement anyway.
  • Well I'd like to hear from those who have used the halogen oven for more than a year.

Some posts suggests that although they are good they don't last that long break down and you have to buy a new one.

I don't want to have to replace every year.

I've had mine for 10 months.

They are just like any other appliance, sometimes the odd one will go wrong. And, like anything else, if you get one that goes wrong you shout a lot louder than those who have a working one.

There is a Yahoo group for Halogen ovens and one of the members is very helfpul when it comes to repairing them.

Very true. This is my second one, but if it packs up I would have to replace it as it is like a member of the family now. Hal O'Genoven. I am using it as I type this, making a pasta bake dish, jacket potatoes (sp) and steaming some broccoli as well in my steamer. I love kitchen gadgets.
