Just got one of these contraptions from Coopers. I've had good results with fish & chips (chips just right, very nice). I'm, at this moment, roasting a chicken. I've set it at 200 but I think I may take it down a tad, so as not to burn. I'll let you know the results.0

You don't need a receipt to return it, but it is likely they will want some proof that you bought it from them, and when.0 -
i paid in cash so i dont have proof, oh no i will just have to rip my house apart till i find it lol.0

I had a JML which packed up. I ended up buying the Coopers one but I have kept the box and receipt just incase.
Incidentally has anyone seen the new gadget from JML - I think it is called The Chef.
I found myself watching it in utter fascination before yelling Nooooooooooooooo!!...and switching over.
It looked a bit like a breadmaker but you could do everything in it including baking bread. It also had a timer so it would cook the stuff for when you would be home from work or make porridge in the morning. Think it was £99.99.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Thanks for your comment, do you mean don't cook for the first 15 mins at 250, or don't cook it for the whole hour at 250? I've edited my original post to try to make it clearer what I mean.0 -
My friend went to Netto for one of these halogen ovens this morning. She was very pleased when it went through at £19.99. It's worth a try at that price.

Hi,
I am looking into both the remoska and the halogen. My only worry is that these halogen ovens seem to be bordering on disposable based on amount of peeps on here that say their's broke.
I try not to buy too many items made of plastic as I worry about them not being recyclable.
What happens each time a bulb goes or a machine breaks. Does it end up in landfill?

The glass top on ours shattered while in use and only six months old.
Wont be buying another.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Well the chicken was succulent and it makes the best roast potatoes ever. To top it all today I made the best bread I've ever baked, all proofed in the halogen. I never could make fruit bread right, but this is just right. Crusty, moist and airy. If this thing lasts, it will be one of my better purchases. I'm chuffed, having just moved into an all electric flat I was concerned. I now hardly use the cooker at all, preferring the halogen and induction hob.0
