I bought a bench and table set from Wessex Teak on Ebay in February, my bench arrived after 3 months hassle of phoning and emailing nearly every day - I've yet to receive the table.
It's worrying that Wessex teak changed their name on ebay from wessexteak to sunshinestateforever recently an now are not registered members.
These people take genuine buyers money and run - no contact, not goods and seriously bad customer service. Don't buy from them people.0 -
I'm yet another customer who Wessex Teak have let down massively. They have now failed a 4th time to deliver my furniture that I bought in April 2008. Having read through all of the threads I have found the following URL

I have e-mailed the event organisers this evening to bring their attention to the appauling service that they demonstrate and have highlighted that as event organisers they have a certain obligation to the public to ensure that they only allow legitimate traders attend the show and prevent any further customers experiencing the misfortune that many of us already have. They are exhibiting under PTC imports but when you click into them it is quite clearly wessexteak.
So to conclude, I would suggest that each and everyone of you e-mail the organisers highlighting your experience in an attempt to draw a close to this dishonest trader.0 -
it isn't only E Bay customers who are being given the run around, I bought directly through the website, and eventually got a delivery date well over 60 days after paying for my furniture.
I went through the ringing on the morning of delivery, to be told they had no tables, and then they had run out of chairs. But , success I received the order this week, with a few minor problems, the main one being one of the chairs is held together with brackets when they claim they use teak dowels, which they have on the other 3. I am now trying to get a replacement, if they admit to receiving my E-mails.0 -

I have fallen sucker to Wessex Teak, quite the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I placed an order for my teak table and chairs. 4 promised deliveries, 6 weeks late, endless telephone calls, often rude and abusive staff, frequently cut off, no idea of customer care, hardly ever an apology, never phone back, table is poor quality, arrived without fittings, after 3 more promised deliveries for the fittings we have a table that is poor in quality and that is unstable! This company should be closed down and quickly before anyone else gets sucked in with their lies and couldn't care a less attitude. I too have e-mailed Andrew Smith and so far haven't received an answer! Anyone considering buying anythng from Wessex Teak - DON'T0

I too have today been done over, £500 worth of furniture, promised delivery today, they even gave me the drivers' number, rang him and he had no idea what I was on about, they gave me another drivers' name, but was told he does not take his mobile with him, it is now 23.08, and I think they may not be coming tonight, these bunch are quite the worst company I have ever dealt with, why they supply contact details god only knows. The only good thing is I paid by credit card and will be withdrawing payment. Do not even think about giving money to this company.0

I too have been done by this shambles of a company, i wish I had looked into them before hand but you think you can trust companies!! £481 for set of 4chairs and table. was going to be a 65 day delivery so cancelled the order for a full refund as per their clause 4.4 on website numerous phone calls telling me cheque would be written the next day and 2 letters threatening legal action and still no money back!!! how mad iam getting, local trading standards are contacting them but not heard anything yet as was only on monday. Totall agree with everything you say Christopher the staff are horrendous, I'm even contemplating going down their to the premises and demanding cheque be written but probably wont even get anywhere.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE COWBOYS!!!!!!0 -
Hi, I can only talk of my experience of Wessex Teak - I bought from Ebay on Ist January last year ( as a new MSEer I was looking for a bargain out of season!!) I paid £438 (that is including the £148 delivery charge to Northern Ireland) for an 11ft table and 10 chairs and waited almost 12 weeks for it to arrive. Had the same problems with communication, however I waited diligently and eventually it arrived. I was delighted with the product and still am, the only downside to it was that after I had treated it with teak oil and left it over our 'glorious' summer it had began to turn black in patches with the rain and had to re-sand and retreat with ronseal this year. Still think that even with all the wait and everything I got a good deal, however when I had read some feedback of Wessex Teak I am glad I didn't pursue them too much re: delivery times as they appeared to be quite spiteful, not the sort of customer service one would expect, but could be down to just one personality in the company unfortunately.0

I've contacted Watchdog this morning, maybe if they get lots of complaints about Wessex teak they may follow this one up for us so please please contact them and maybe we will get somewhere with this cowboy company, website link is below to fill out details, also contact the local trading standards too as if they get enough complaints they have to do something about them. heres hoping!!
