Good to see you back here! Always nice to get the supplier's side ;) . <--- that's a wink smilie, in case like me your smilies aren't working.
  • Feeling bored? Nothing on TV? Why not try the following?

    1. Order furniture online from Wessex Teak, don't worry about lack of e-mail order confirmation
    2. Wait a few weeks to see if they'll deliver
    3. Ring them, explain situation, thank them for confirming a delivery date
    4. Wait till delivery date passed
    5. Ring them and listen to story about being let down by hauliers, thank them for confirming new delivery date
    6. Wait till delivery date passed
    7. Ring them and wonder how many other companies are let down by non arrival of containers. Thank helpful Bernard for taking over your case "personally" and confirming new delivery date
    8. Wait till delivery date passed
    9. Ring them to cancel order and request refund. Resist temptation to take up their offer to deliver slight variation on your original order. Smile over their comment that "you're the first customer we've lost"
    10. Send summary of conversations to date, confirmation of order cancellation via recorded delivery, and specify refund expected within 14 days.
    11. Wait 14 days
    12. Ring credit card company and claim refund under section 75 of credit act for non delivery of goods
    13. Get refund
    14. Rinse and repeat
  • Update - I have got my money back!!!

As above, I went to the small claims court on-line https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk.
The deadline passed when I got a letter from Wessex Teak with a cheque for my £180 plus the £25 it cost me to go through the on-line process. The cheque was backdated to 3rd Oct 2008 (I received the cheque on about 19th Sept). I didn't actually believe it was a genuine cheque, but it has now cleared in my account!

I would advise anyone who is owed money by them to do this! It has worked for me. I submitted my claim on 5th Aug and cashed the cheque on 3rd Oct! Considering I spent the whole summer chasing them, the turnaround time isn't too bad, and this is with them (W.T) not meeting deadlines and post-dating cheques!
    Good luck everyone!

You know there's two sides to Wessexteak. I know you people are angry but some of us did try to do our jobs, even if others didnt.

    What do you mean?????????
  • Come on bigboy no good giving us half a story!

whats the other side then? I would like to know the resons behind myself and many others being messed around!
  • We have finally after 8 months got our refund of £481 after going through the small claims route, we also got our £35 back which we had to pay to start the claim, we didnt think we were going to ever get it back but thankfully we did and wish we had started the claim sooner so to all who still haven't received their refund start proceeding asap. from submitting the claim to receiving payment cleared in bank was 2 months. good luck to you all

    Hi,
Please at all cost do NOT order through this awful company! They have slammed the phone down three times now on me and my wife, most recently today.Basically we ordered a £449 garden set in early February 09,delivered Monday 9 March and upon close inspection a chair broken,no seat cushions/pillows and no screws for the table.I have contacted them three times on the phone and they are very rude and were abusive to both of us today, they will not reply to any emails..They say they have sent the screws twice now and blame the Royal Mail for picking them out as suspect parcels, what a load of crap ! I phoned and emailed them this week asking to be sent Special Delivery as I am having a garden party tomorrow.I was promised by 'Paul Van Hale' he would send them, guess what they never arrived today ! Called up today after postie had been, spoke to Paul and what a horrible person he is.Zero customer service skills and the most rude person I have ever spoken to.He told me I should get the screws myself and assemble it,accused me of being rude and swearing..I only said I was p!!!ed of ! I have reported the company to Consumer Direct,Watchdog and am giving them 7 days to reolve the matter if not I will be going to the claims court. There terms of payment on the phone are purely cash or cheque on delivery, seems the legacy of bad press lives on where customers were paying by credit card and stopping payment.Unfortunatly we paid by cheque and within two days the funds were taken so we are stuffed.

Also as in previous threads here they are trading under other company names

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS !!!!

    UPDATE 30/03/09
    ############
Today was meant to be the day they were delivering the balance of the furniure being screws for table, cushions and a replacement seat.I was given this date by WT around 18 days ago.Well as expected come 3pm and no sign of them.I asked my dad to phone as I had to got to work at 3.30 and he said he would pop ove to oversee the delivery,I will not verbally speak to them.Dad said that they do not have the chairs in stock and wait for this...they are going to deliver Friday 10,April which is a Bank Holiday,I THINK NOT !!! Terry at TS has been informed and I am about to write a final letter,we want a completed order OR a full replacement OR a full refund. If they cannot meet any of these they I am looking forward to taking them to court,I will give them 7 days.So there you are, nice of them to let me know they weren't comming today,I wasted a whole day.
