    HA...

finally caught up...well with this part of the thread anyhow!

Can someone point me in the right direction of what the NR saga is with CCCS or give me the potted history?

I'm literally on the verge of sending token payments (tomorrow am) with the accompanying CCCS letter first payment due to CCCS on 10th July.

The DMP is solely for the credit in my name with four creditors.

My wife and I have a joint mortgage with an unsecured loan attached: a Together mortgage.

From the parts I've read here it would appear that CCCS appear to want to force that onto the DMP; surely they can't if it's in joint names and this isn't anything to do with our joint accounts as this would obviously mean NR would pursue my wife for the money; ergo I'd end up paying it as she's stopping at home raising the kiddywinks.

When I filled in the forms for CCCS I just told them that I have to make a mortgage payment of £800 (approx; well they got the exact figure but I don't remember it off hand) - I didn't even think about it not being a standard mortgage?

hmmmm I think there's going to be some food for thought depending on the responses I get as I don't think I have the stamina right now to go for it alone (i.e. without a charity/company behind me; I know you guys/gals are here but I'm just not ready to do my own DMP yet).

If your name is on the NR loan, they are one of your creditors and CCCS will want it in there.

See post no 218 on this thread for an explanation.

You don't need to do a self managed DMP, just go to payplan.

Fair point if bernie mentions it all outright I guess there's no quarrel to be had...but from all the docs etc. I've seen (which I'll freely admit is not many as I'm just starting out) they all seem to be saying you need to try to avoid extra credit...

having said that I guess it's not extra if you've told them about it up front...:D

honesty is the best policy after all!

Technically speaking it is not additional credit it is existing credit that you are not including.

I would tell CCCS that you need it for expenses in order to do your job - here is the biggie though - is that card related to any of the companies you are including in your DMP - because there could lie a problem!
  • how do you find out if cc companies are related? I have just started a dmp with cccs, so would like to join in this thread.

Hi all I have finally got round to setting up my DMP and am now awating the forms I have to sign and return. Its quite a relief. i have a couple of questions though. I have a credit card for work that I claim expenses for and have to pay back that month so it never accrues would I still be able to use this? And am I obliged to provide cccs with details of any extra money I get so it can instantly go on my DMP?

Oh i'll be here a while too there is a fair bit to pay off

    Hi Bernie

Well done for dealing with your debts.

I have a company amex card that I use for expenses, the company then pay me through my salary and I pay the CC, like you all within the same month so I don't accrue interest. The CC it a company CC not my own personal one, therefore I think shouldn't count as your debt. To be on the safe side, mention it to CCCS but I don't think it would be a problem.

The above link is a list of related creditors although it is not the best, you may need to check your individual card to see who underwrites it that information should be on there websites.

I will add you to the list for this topic in a mo!

Any advice as to what to do about this? I don't mean whether to answer or not but whether it should be reported or not.

If your name is on the NR loan, they are one of your creditors and CCCS will want it in there.

See post no 218 on this thread for an explanation.

You don't need to do a self managed DMP, just go to payplan.

Thanks andy - seeing post 218 is what made me question it...CCCS haven't mentioned it yet...I was going to (since I saw your post) call them today to see what they say, then as you say I can either go with PP or _pale_ go self managed - I'm sure it's not that bad...I am so disorganised though I'm just not sure I'm ready for it, and it strikes me you just need to have "girded loins" to go the self managed route...I guess it could cure my complete disorganisation with regard to money I'd be watching every penny and every account I'd guess?

I'll have to have a read through some of the earlier posts to see how people fare on the self managed route.

    Thanks again.

kpwll: personally I'd report it...it may completely innocent but it may be praying on members inconvenient money situations to get details to sell on...who knows?

There's nothing bad about going with payplan. For me it was really just laziness preventing me from wanting to go through the whole process again with another organisation.

I am organised enough and strong enough to deal with a DMP myself. I also have the resouces I need to make it easy to do during the day. Only go down the DIY route if you are sure you want to. If you have doubts, use payplan. It's what they are there for. Once you've been at it a while, perhaps you could take it over for yourself later if you really want to.
