I would write to Barclays and put on the letter that you will face disciplinary actions if you take phone calls at work and ask them to take the number off there database and put things in writing. You could use the template letter for askign companies to stop calling and add a bit more in to do with your work situation.0

I found one but you will need to edit it - I recommend changing "mum" to your work details but at least you can use it as a base of a letter.
Dear Sir / Madam,
Re accounts ref
I am writing to you to inform that I request all communications to me in writing. I do not want any further telephone calls made to me ( my mum).
To continue to contact me by telephone after I have requested you not to constitutes harassment. I require all future communications in writing for future Court use. Do not telephone me again – remove any telephone numbers you hold for me from your systems.
Your telephone calls are in breach of the Office of Fair Trading guidelines. If you continue with them after the receipt of this letter, an official complaint, together with a log recording the times and frequency will be passed both to that office and to Trading Standards, For your information, all telephone calls are taped.
This type of debt collection method is contrary to the ‘Administration of Justice Act 1970’. In that it is intended to cause alarm and distress to the recipient. Your methods will not be tolerated. A formal complaint to the relevant authorities will be made.
Take further notice that continued telephone calls after receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003. Continued phone calls to my mother may also constitute an offence under the Data Protection Act.
Communicate in writing and ONLY in writing. Your telephone calls will not be answered.
HOWEVER, CALLS WILL TRIGGER COMPLAINTS TO THE REGULATORY BODIES.
I trust I have made myself understood on this matter.

Yours,
Rayday,
Another one of my creditors have just rung me at work, can they inform my work???
Pinksparkle0 -
No they can't. I should imagine its because when you took out the credit you put a works number on the application form. My husband had calls at work from Lloyds because we had changed our number it was the only valid phone number they had. He told them he could not take personal phonecalls at work as he worked on a call desk and he would be sacked we never even had to write a letter they never rang back.
But I recommend sending the letters to anyone who rings at work and if they ring again tell them you are not allowed to take personal calls at work and you have written to ask the number be taken off there database.0 -

I think it's an absolutely appauling practice to call people at work. I recently had a phone call at work offering me another job, how naughty is that?
On a different subject, my first payment has just gone out to my creditors and I have looked at the statement on the CCCS website and notice that no payment at all went to my Additions Account. Anyone have any ideas on this. I have emailed CCCS but they haven't got back to me yet.

Don't worry. As soon as I ask they reply. Apparantly my account number appears to be incorrect (appeared a some sort of incorrect account number report). They asked me to check and let them know and they will send out 2 months in July. I wish they'd have let me know instead of waiting for me to ask though. Luckily I'm always checking the things cos I wanted to see the debt go down for a change!

welll..in true lmw baby style we were on for going to the hospital sorted the bags out just about to phone the grandparents....and the brakes went on!!!!!
I'll pass on all the support to the lady who'll need it most (thanks a lot). And of course I'll let you all know when s/he finally does make an appearance!<<<<proud dad part III
Just got off the phone with PP - well I put the fishes to bed first before coming on here - they (PP not the fishes) have worked out the payment to be £138 spondoolies...and suggested that as I'm the only breadwinner that I take the £5 insurance cover thingy (anyone done this and if so do you think the cover will do what it says on the tin?)
Just have to wait for a follow up call 3-5 days - oh and by the time I'd found out that I would most likely have to change providers Mrs lmw had sent the CCCS letters to the creditors with the token payment...so I'll have to write to all my creditors again to say don't bother with that CCCS bunch PP is the way to go - does anyone know if the reference you get from the email from PP becomes your case reference (it's eight digits from what I can tell)?
Actually I might just wait for PP to contact me with a form letter; I can then attach a covering letter saying sorry for the confusion but actually you need to contact PP (reference their enc. letter) etc. etc. you get the idea.
For the benefit of newcomers/ppl that aren't in the know I noted the above not because there's anything wrong with CCCS - in fact they are fantastically helpful - it's basically just that they aren't the right fit for my situation.
Fingers crossed for the new arrival early next week we'll be ready with the sleeping arrangements and I could really (REALLY) do with some time off from work to enjoy the family!

Hi There
Just an update. Most letters have been sent with token payments (all recorded). Now waiting to see what happens next. Do feel that it is the right thing to do.0
