I am organised enough and strong enough to deal with a DMP myself. I also have the resouces I need to make it easy to do during the day. Only go down the DIY route if you are sure you want to. If you have doubts, use payplan. It's what they are there for. Once you've been at it a while, perhaps you could take it over for yourself later if you really want to.
!!!!!!y...!!!!!!y...ball-cocks I knew it was going too well. I've just got off the phone with CCCS and they do need to put the unsecured part on to the plan otherwise I'm giving NR preferential treatment...I can see their point...but...ho hum - onward and upward and all of that.
Don't worry andy I know there's nothing wrong with PP...the only reason I went with CCCS is because they offer a online initial service...but I'm getting ok at fessing up to having a problem...so going through with payplan wouldn't be a hardship. I am quite a lazy fella so I think I may have to go with PP.
There's a couple of things stopping me going self managed right now:-
I'm not normally around in the day
I'm not ready for 'em; I have to build up the reserves - hopefully you know what I mean.
I think for me it'll have to be - doing the budget again with PP for now...possibly switching over when I'm not feeling so... C*** (Not the best)
Thanks for the friendly words of advice (in a non-legally binding person-to-person advice sort of a way)

Hi lmw1977
I'm in exactly the same situation as you. Got a NR Together and am now getting started with PP. I've canceled most of my direct debts this weekend. The payment should be going out today, it sure feels strange at the moment. I have asked PP for the token letter template to send token payments, however still have not received one !!!0 -

Well there are two perfectly decent examples; you gotta love this place haven't you!!! I'll guess I'll poach one of them when I get the ref number etc.
when initially dealing with PP did you mention the together mortgage up front?
When I was dealing with CCCS I just said it was a mortgage payment because that's just what it feels like: we've been paying it for approx 4yrs now. I never gave it a second thought. I'm wondering if this is the reason it's come back to bite me; as I've said before...honesty policy and all that...DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 201

Hi to you all, i'm new around here!
a bit about my debt status!
Have been in dmp with eurodebt for past 4 years but found them unhelpful, late paying people and charging me every month, so have just switched to payplan...first payment due 01.08.08
current debt is £47,543, and dmp should be paid in around 23 years...seems so long, but hey same as mortgage after all.
as all the debt was in my name (coerced by previous partner who kindly spent most of it) they did not take my partner's wages into account, i just reduced my bills to 'my contribution', and payplan insisted i add amounts for hairdresser (like i can remember when i went to one last!) onto monthly expenditure so less disposable income, which in fact will make me better off then when paying eurodebt!Smoke free since 30/01/13 :j0 -

I just rang CCCS and the lady there seemed to think Nationwide was on their list. She is kindly sending me a list in the post as one never came to me initially.
I have everything crossed that they accept me as will be !!!!!!ed if they don't. Helps me massively.
hi, i had the same problem, and have gone with halifax, who only wanted a utility bill and passport, no credit check for basic account:jSmoke free since 30/01/13 :j0
