Wahoo it's like being at school again and writing on the very first page of your exercise book in neat writing!

Well done ben79 on contacting CCCS.

I applied online and received a pack a few days later which included a template letter. You photocopy it to all your creditors and fill in the details. I waited until I got this pack because CCCS give you a seperate reference number which isnt the website reference which you first get and it's this one that the creditors need.

As I filled out each letter I systematically cancelled my direct debits so I knew every creditor had a letter. It also gives you a little extra cash to put in your new bank account to see you through the first month and it's lovely seeing your account in balance all the time!

Congrats again for sorting it out and don't worry about being emotional, I swing from happy, tearful and guilty all the time but at least most of the worry has gone and that's what makes the difference to my life.

Good luck for MOT (I hate MOT day!)

Well I've done it! I've drafted my letters to my creditors to take on the DM myself (No more paying someone to do it).

I've increased my payments, and if they give me grief (which no doubt they will), I'll do a CCA request and keep them tied up in paperwork til they give in! I will need everyone's help for that, but one step at a time!

Oh, and the letters wil be sent out recorded, and not signed :rotfl:

Our payments are due to start on 1st July. All the letters we have got from creditors are telling us they accept but want payment by 6th of each month. We are worried because CCCS said it could take 20 days for payment to reach creditors. Its such a worrying time I just want things to start moving.

On another note DH's firm may have succeeded in screwing us over DH's expenses. He clearly told them our new bank details (as our Lloyds TSB current account is one of our debtors with the overdraft) and on his expenses form he completed the part with new bank details and the idiots have paid it into our Lloyds account. Here's hoping he can get the money out tonight when its paid in and before Lloyds notice. Does anyone know if you can take the maximum amount out of the atm at the same time on both cards in a joint account?

Well done Ben. I would wait on the template letters to arrive so that you can put the CCCS reference numbers on them. If you are really raring to go you could always get the envelopes written in the meantime and the postal orders/cheques sorted for the minimum payments.

Justme, what a nightmare. I don't know whether you can withdraw the maximum on both cards or not - sorry. Hope you get it sorted. Could he withdraw the maximum amount and then do a transfer to another account of the rest?

    Hi Just Me.

On the CCCS payment date, I think I read in an earlier post that if the creditors call, to tell them that you have paid CCCS and it can take upto 25 days. You cannot move this date, so they should just adjust their records. tbh I have been telling each creditor as they have phoned (quite a few) that the July payment will not reach them until 25th July and nothing I can do to change that.

We used to bank with Lloyds and my dh husbands wage got paid in by mistake, as it cleared just before midnight, we took out the maximum at 11.55 and again at 12.05am. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Tbh they still haven't called us about our overdraft and it is still showing in online banking. We have a tiny bit of cash in there to pay for paypal bill and they haven't taken that. :j

MBNA have accepted ours straight off but they have said they require payment by the 6th of each month. I did phone them and have sent a letter explaining that they will be paid but it might not be by the 6th. On the phone they said that was fine.

I have HSBC accounts but they are not creditors so I can't answer your question about them.
