Yeh. I had a SimplyBe account which was passed to Reliable Collections, which as it turns out are just a different department. I think it's really unfair when they do that. It creates so much stress for people when they think that debt collectors are after them.
Naughty Naughty.

Yeh, my phone was going dead. It was their number ringing about 8 times a day every day including Sundays and it was going dead when I eventually plucked up the courage to answer it. I used this site http://whocallsme.com/ as recommended by Tigert and it revealed it was GE Money. Excellent site.
My SimplyBe account was passed to Reliable collections before the DMP but they have been great. The bloke I spoke to there was very understanding and accepted my lower payments over the phone before I contacted CCCS and they have stuck to it since CCCS got in touch and stopped interest etc.

GE Money kept ringing me then when I'd answer the phone would go dead. They finally answered and said it was a computer thing..............

I’ve had exactly the same with goldfish – they ring and ring but always disconnect when I picked the phone up
Well at last yesterday I got connected – I’m not sure if I was correct in doing this but I went ballistic, accusing her of harassment and threatened to report them – when she got a word in she said they had a right to contact me – I said yes but only in writing as I told them by letter – she said they had not received my letter – I asked if she had received my token payment and she said she had, so I told her that she must have recieved the letter as it was with the £1 payment!! – well that did it, it started me off again rant and ranting about auto diallers, harrasment etc etc and demanded she remove my number form her database.. Well to cut this short after another 10 minutes rant with her only able to get a dozen words in she agreed to make sure my account was noted and that I would not get any more calls – with that we terminated the hostilities
I sat down poised for an hour just waiting for the phone to ring, thinking up all sorts of horrible thoughts about what I would do if they called but luckilly for me and my phone (it would have ended up broken when I threw is missile like at a wall) ever since there has not been a peep from goldfish – after days of incessant calls, nothing….. almost miss it!!
Am I ashamed of myself? Of course not!!! I did not swear and never used any bad names – but after days of harassment I think it was time I gave a bit back!!!0 -

Simbalou - this also happend to me, my child benefit went into my old account and I lost it!
A word of advice for anyone switching over stadning orders etc......
I called Tax Credits to give them my new bank details and the 'kind' lady said she would inform Child benefit of the change - she obvisously did not.
I have seen another post on here saying the same thing!
So if anyone is giving tax credits their new bank details, make sure you contact child benefit yourself.
ps - hi to all you new guys, lots of us at the same stage, so we can all supprot one another - This is such a great place to come !!!!

Managed to get my child benefit from old bank account, I've never ran so fast to the bank machine (thank goodness I live in town!)
I didn't trust anyone with the switching over of direct debits and I did it all myself, so the saying goes 'if you want a job doing properly then do it yourself'.
First CCCS payment will be done next week and so far heard from no creditors what so ever but I know they all received my template letter and token payment because they have gone out of the bank.

Ta-dah!! wow how posh new thread and all
Well went to the bank on Monday dreading the fact that my tax credits and child benefit had gone into my old account, but no they were in there, how fantastic is was to see no minus sign in front of the balance. I is well rich!! Well not quite, I paid 2 weeks rent and childcare and left the rest in.
I am scared of spending my new money, anyone else feel like this? Before I was spending just for the sake of it, shopping, food, stupid stuff but now I feel really determined to get money behind me even if it is just a hundred quid, more than I ever had before. I am actually tracking every penny I spend in a little A5 book, this will help me budget better.
I received my CCCS pack today with the payment slip for July inside and direct debit form to set up from my new bank for August, so far so good have only had a letter from my bank loan and a bill from my credit card but will just keep sending postal order token payments of £2 until the DMP set up by direct debit.
I wanted to repeat what Angel Cake said about tax credits and child benefit promising to tell each other; don't take their word for it, make the call yourself to both departments, I know it's a pain pressing 15 buttons and then holding for 10 minutes before you speak to a human but if you do it yourself then at least you know the relevant department has been informed.
Good luck everyone and keep smiling, if I win the lottery this weekend I will buy you all a drink ok?DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
I'm exactly the same with money now toffee penny, I'm obsessed with keeping money in my account and love looking at the balance. I want about £500 in a savings account just incase for cars, the boiler blowing up etc!
I need to ring child benefit to make sure next months payment will go in the right account because I'm sure my old bank account wont let me take it out next time.
I'm paying my first payment to cccs as soon as oh gets paid on 23rd. Does anyone know the transcash charge at the post office? Just so I'm prepared not to look shocked when I have to hand my money over.DMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110 -

Update from probably the last time I posted and said I could not live without a dishwasher - I know its bad but there are 5 of us!
Anyway I won an auction on ebay for a forest green one for 99p and it works and is installed
Apologies for next bit of news I can't remember who I promised to post for but I have now received all my statements for June Lloyds credit cards and still no interest.0
