We used to bank with Lloyds and my dh husbands wage got paid in by mistake, as it cleared just before midnight, we took out the maximum at 11.55 and again at 12.05am. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Tbh they still haven't called us about our overdraft and it is still showing in online banking. We have a tiny bit of cash in there to pay for paypal bill and they haven't taken that. :j

Well its now 11.43 and I have just checked Lloyds online and the money has gone in so DH is on his way to try and take the money out.

GE Money kept ringing me then when I'd answer the phone would go dead. They finally answered and said it was a computer thing. I was at work so my boyfriend had a little go at them for harrassing me saying that they knew the situation I was in to which they replied that they didn't. Even though CCCS would have contacted them, I sen them the standard template letter I got from CCCS and I've written to them (recorded delivery).
Anyway, my boyfriend told them not to call me and to go through CCCS and they ahve said they have made a note on the account. That was yesterday and so for no more calls. (and usually I would have had loads by now) :D
Unusual I thought for them to speak to somebody else about my account (even though it's not specifics) but it seems to have worked. My boyfriend can be quite persuasive.

    Sorry for the rant.

Hi Jvic - I had the same issue with GE - they don't talk to each other ;)

They rang me every day for a while and I answered each time and told them about CCCS and they said yes it was noted on the system - eventually got through to someone who said all the other people should have flagged the system NOT to call again for X number of days (to give CCCS a chance to contact them). All went quiet after that.

Then I had one letter accepting the DMP the next from another department refusing the DMP. ;) They did stop all interest after about 3 months of the DMP.

If they pass to their Debt Collection agency - life goes very quiet and all you get is a statement every month saying carry on paying what you are :D

Did GE Money accept your DMP or did they send it to a DCA? I've had a letter and a statement off them asking me to pay the whole balance and threatening legal action so sounds like I'm gonna get sold off to a DCA.

    Both!!!

They wrote to accept it. Stopped all the interest. Then two months later passed it to a DCA who just take the same amount of money from the DMP each time and send a statement each month. They seem quite happy and are very quiet ;)

A bit silly of GE to sell your debt on really as they would have had more money off you eventually than they would have sold the debt for surely.

I'm looking forward to everything settling down and just getting payments made to them all.

I suspect in the end DCA's are probably easier to make final settlement offers to anyway as they would probably still be getting more money off you than what they bought the debt for.

I suspect they haven't actually "sold" the debt but possibly passed it on to another part of their company (or linked company) to deal with the actual collection.

Some banks etc have their own in-house collection agencies which have completely separate company names ;)

Yeh. I had a SimplyBe account which was passed to Reliable Collections, which as it turns out are just a different department. I think it's really unfair when they do that. It creates so much stress for people when they think that debt collectors are after them.

    Naughty Naughty.
