Last time I'm doing that!
I had to look up what pedant means  I am a peasant - but I like that word now (not peasant!) :rotfl:0 -
Just wanted to bump this
Hi all
I am after a bit of advise. We bought a computer a couple of years ago on finance through First National and the last DD payment is today. I have just called to advise them that the DD has been cancelled as all paid up and they have advised that there is still £90 outstanding in late payment charges  .
These have been occured because I cancelled the DD by accident and only realised once they sent a letter.
Should I add this to the DMP or fight back to get these removed ? TBH they have been a horrible company to deal with so I am in no rush to pay them back.Lightbulb moment: 19 May 2008 !!Total debt May 2008: £24,220 Debt free date: Jul 2013DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 196Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -

Shazand was it hire purchase or a loan? I would take advice on it really. But first you could write a letter of complaint explain you are having financial difficulty and tell them you can afford a £1 - the only bit that worries me is if it is hire purchase. Hence I say take proper advice. If its a loan try your luck at getting the charges dropped.0

I keep getting turned down for things and about to start DMP hence bank account. Not good at all financially.
I thought I was told by CCCS that for basic bank accounts they didnt do a credit check.....not necessarily Nationwide but banks etc as a whole.0 -
I think companies do things like partial checks which just checks your address and that you exist basically. Barclays had to do one on me to be a signatory on a community account.
Thats why I say ring Nationwide and ask them what check you do the more upfront you are the better. If you are worried can you not apply online? Sorry not sure what Nationwide do re opening bank accounts.0 -
