You have to make fun when the money runs out.

A bloke came round the other day offering LCD tellys at 183% Apr but with huge coin slots bolted onto the side - which made me wonder whats the point of a thin telly with a huge box on it.

Our telly has no box but is a huge box!

I am in the "bad books" too so we can be in bad books together! Mine is because I said I had not rung the petrol station up about that job. When he asked why I told him I didn't think it would work with him coping with the girls in the morning and never got chance to say the rest he just went off on one about being a scape goat

When Mr moody gets home, tell him the real reason is that you didn't want to be away in the evenings because you'd miss seeing his scowly face.

    That shoud do the trick

I've advised loads of divorced people. Funny though, they weren't divorced when I met them.

Hello. Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I've had some other stuff (not money for a change) to deal with. Last week I was able to write to my creditors and increase my payments slightly. Ususally this spurs me on - but it's not balancing the other stuff.

At the end of July I should also start getting an allowance in work for a project I'm undertaking. I know that I should save this, then divide it when it's a big enough amount and pay extra from the debts - but with the summer holidays coming and two kids to keep occupied I think it would be better spent on icecreams and trips to the beach.

That's assuming the sun comes out (in more ways than one).

Thanks Rayday. This has come at me from the side and I was not expecting it. I'm getting a bit obsessed by it so I thought I'd made a conscious effort to do something else. Thank you again.

Hi all :j I'm having a 'virtual moan' this morning.....;)

I received a letter this morning from CCCS telling me they have noticed I am still paying PPI on my credit card, due to me now making reduced payments this insurance should be cancelled as the insurance itself would not be valid if making reduced payments. How nice of them!! I would never have thought about that assuming the cc company would cancel it for me!! (yes I am that naive but I am new so cut me some slack please :D )

One of my catalogue companies wrote a bit of a snotty letter to me stating I had missed this months payment, my account is now in arrears and if I don't pay on time I will be charged £12 late fee every time. Boo hoo! I will send them £2 instead of the £175 they want for being snotty! :p

I feel I have been a bit naughty lately though and am still spending alot on food shopping every week, I'm still spending like I have an overdraft behind me. I have tried to track everything that I am spending and my biggest weakness is the food shopping, I spend at least £70 a week for one adult, two children and that is a massive overspend, I know I should cut down. I shop like I have nothing in the cupboards though, I do a list and stick to it but I'm getting carried away shopping like I have nothing in the freezers when I have. I don't need 6 tins of spaghetti and 14 tins of soup sitting in the cupboard just so it looks like I have food. I really need to buy what I need for the week and that's it. I have found this part quite hard though, I must admit, I suppose it takes time to adjust and get into the habit of saving money rather than keep spending like I used to this is how I got myself £10,000 debt in the first place. :o

It's going to be tight in the next few weeks, my daughter is going to secondary school this year  . I went to the parents meeting the other day and was gived the usual bumpf?? including the uniform price list. I have two choices where to buy the uniform from and there isn't much difference between them but a jumper will cost about £13, then the polo tops £10 then I will have to buy new shoes, bag, sports kit, trousers, pens, scientific calculator etc. It all adds up and you can't just buy the one top and jumper, probably minimum of 3 or 4 each at least (sweaty teenager and all :rotfl: )
Plus she tells me she would like to go school dinners, she obviously thinks its chips and burgers everyday, don't think so lovey haven't you heard of Jamie Oliver? :p The price of a school meal in secondary school is dun dun der...£2.15  that is over a tenner a week plus bus fare to and from school everyday, this secondary school lark is a dear game. I just know I am going to turn into my mum, as a teenager you don't care where the money comes from as long as you have it when going out with yer mates, now my daughter is getting to that stage and I am the only one working I know I will sound like my own mum did. When I used to moan to my mum about dinner money for school and bus fare and she would say 'just wait 'til you have kids' and I would think 'yeah yeah I'll be a better parent, I'll let my kid do this and this' Oh how true that saying is 'what goes around comes around'

Then my lad needs new trousers, the knees are starting to go on his, told him time and time again to stop skidding on his knees but it's what they do when they score a goal at school apparantely ;) . I have bought school trousers from Tesco before, reasonable priced for what they are but I have a 10% voucher for Matalan, so will take a look in there also.

Anyway enough of me and my problems, take care everyone :p

Toffee Penny can I hit you virtually with a toffee hammer :P

My daughter started secondary school last year and today I am shopping for school uniform for 3 - only one at secondary though.

I would take a look at the school uniform shop, when I went I found that I only had to buy the blazer, PE shirts, and PE rugby top which were specific with badge to the school. Then I looked at everything else which was plain just expensive and went to M&S. Who currently have 3 for 2 on ;)

Scientific calculators are pretty cheap think we went to WHSmith and then the rest of her bits and bobs came from Netto (she has no idea!)

I have a 7 year old girl who must think shes a boy - shes written off 3 pairs of shoes this month and her knees. Oh and add into that a a pair of prescription glasses too. In fact my 3 year old is the cheapest deal going they really do get expensive as they get older.

Did you put on your CCCS budget for school dinners? If not come September you may want to ring them and configure it a bit.

As for shopping like there is a food shortage every week that is me! I found throwing out my spare freezer stopped me there on the frozen side. And actually taking a list of what we do have helped more than what we needed as I question as I put bits in. If you take the kids shopping why don't you challenge the older one to question everything you put in - and tell her if it comes under £50 she can have the difference up to £50 make her your conscience - I can't spell on a Saturday.

(If Andy was around he would say I can't spell anyday :p - love ya really Andy)
