Loopy I think you have to fight even if you don't win at least you have pride and know you tried you don't have any of those niggling "I wonder ifs..."

Keep us in the loop Loopy with the CEO thing, I really admire your strength in fighting them its very inspiring!

Thanks Rayday. You're right about the "what ifs" I was a bit complacent about it at one time and just thought "let them get on with it" but it's more the principle of the thing really.

One thing that seems to have become clear recently is that if you have a together loan with NR, don't go to CCCS! I'm really not knocking them, but in this particular situation, I think Payplan or Self Managed DMP is the way to go. I remember questioning Andy's post when he first said that CCCS had told him that NR would get more than their original payment as that's what I first thought and then it wasn't correct, and I was gutted that he was going to be Ok and I wasn't - but then it turned out we were both stuffed! Well Andy's managed to nip his in the bud so no harm done, but I am minded to post a new thread with this advice in it, to avoid a lot of unnecessary stress.
  • Hang on. I did not give you advice. I told you what I did and my reasoning behind it.

I am not qualified to advise you on which path to take.

I didn't get very far with pay plan so I have no idea what their allowances are. I looked at the forms and thought 'not again!' and decided to do it myself

    Andy

Didn't mean you gave me personal advise...

Your just in a similar situation that I'm in (NR Together Mortgage). I was just not happy with CCCS insisting that I enter that part within the rest of my debts. I am happy to go thru all the figures with PP and then I can decide on which one works best for me.

Good Luck with your own DIY DMP, Im personally not that confident at the moment to do that plan of action.

Hey when I started my DMP I suddenly had a regular perscription (actually I should have but can never be bothered to go to GP to pick it up!) My children stayed school dinners and my hubby used the works canteen.

Obviously all that means it takes longer to pay my debts back but its a nice safety net.

My term/life assurance is £16 per month, I'm not sure how it was entered on my budget sheet as £60 - someone must have misheard me ;)

And funny how my son's school dinners (£40 per month) now seem to come in pack lunch style M&S cool bag ;)

Yes I really do want to repay my debts but I cannot survive on £100 per week for the next 7 years so a little "tweaking" as a definate necessity so far as I was concerned.

    OK, just me being over-cautious.

The lesson we are learning here is don't go to CCCS if you have a NR Together motgage.

Loopy - Good idea to put up a new thread.

CRIPES! It's 11:30 and I've hardly done any work! must go do some.

Those links always confuse me, they say we should budget as "couple with children" but we aren't children and so eat more etc.

We might need a serious change of budget this year, we just cannot afford to eat as my dad's net pay is dropping due to the cost of fuel. :(

They confuse me too - we have 2 step kids 3 nights a week (and over the entire weekend) - what does that make our budget

Our budget will have to change too - with fuel going up in price we are paying about £30 a month more than when I started the DMP (although have a bit extra running about for the kids too) - so even though I over estimated back then, it's still not enough to cover it now :(

We are probably paying about £200-£250 a month in fuel _pale_ What can you do? Can't charge the customers more, it's a tight market at the moment

Hi Everyone a bit of advice needed please. Have come home to 2 letters both the same (one fom RBS CC and the other Mint CC) saying they have issued a default on us and if we do not pay the full amount owed it will go to the debt recovery department.

First question what does a default mean? Do they do this before they accept the DMP? Sorry if being thick just getting concerned and worried:)
