Well done Whoopiedoodle. :T
Rayday, all that for £180 a month. You are doing the right thing. There are easier jobs for better money out there. I'm sure of it.
Welcome to Nikkisue and any other new people I've missed.
Nothing new on the DMP front. Bits and pieces with regard to the charges reclaiming though:
Halifax A/C 1: Money paid into account last week - OD cleared plus they made a payment to mortgage. I asked about this and they thought there were arrears. Guy said to leave it and for me not to make an August payment. :j
Halifax A/C 2: Money should be paid in this week again clearing the OD and putting a bit to the CC. :j
Halifax A/C 3: Got a letter saying go away. Phoned them and said that they thought I had financial difficulties and paid out on the other 2. Account is now in review and he said I should hear something this month. :j
GE Money x 2: Letter 1 sent to both
Egg: Letter 1 sent
Open & Direct: Passed to Ombudsman today :rotfl:
Cahoot: Passed to Ombudsman today :rotfl:
Studio: If they don't play ball this week, they are going to the Ombudsman too. :rotfl:
Argos: Still waiting on info re charges0 -
Sorry, this may sound thick but (and I would like a number please) how do you know when people have accepted your DMP or not accepted? I sent token payments July near the end of and the CCCS wrote to all my creditors end of July with my payment proposal. Now, I have not heard from anyone? Possibly had lots of calls as was prior to this date but not now as they won't get through ;-) Have to send token payments this month, on list to do but am busy, have filled stuff out but not got around to get the postal orders. Caused a right fuss at the post office last time.
Anyway, will CCCS know who has or hasn't? Puzzled. Dread mail but so far.......am sure it won't last?0 -
Its an untold science knowing when people have accepted, some write to say, some default never say anything but interest stops, some just ignore you but again interest stops.
CCCS will probably have more of an idea but basically the companies get the money whether they accept or not, its not like an IVA where a certain number have to accept.
I love causing chaos at post offices but I think I must be a right wind up artist on the side!
Many thanks for all the support btw re my job. I was threatened disciplinary last month or rather "told to check my contract" when I wanted to attend a public meeting so I have a feeling they will be glad when I hand my notice in. My immediate supervisor won't he is a lovely guy and very good with young people but hates paperwork so I have carried him in that respect. But I do feel enough is enough.
I have gone through my budget and to be honest not including my wages we should get by as we are so obviously I am naughty and somehow blow £180 a monthbut I will actively look for something else less time consuming.
I do like to help people and work with people but anything "messy" is not for me I am more a natterbox than a caring person. I may pursue something else but in September I am volunteering in the primary school when my youngest starts nursery so although having a gap on my CV I will still be reference material if you get me.0 -
I added you btw to the list (it sits on page 2) but I have copied the last few entries for you

rayday, do what makes you and your family happy. I was in a dreadful job too and decided to leave and become self-employed. It was the best thing I did. I have a lot less money now, but we manage okay and the debts are being paid. But the main thing is my sanity and that of my family.
Having a job that you are unhappy in affects your whole life and can make it much harder to deal with life in general.
If you can manage financially, move on. Something much better will come along.
However, I would be inclined to officially complain about the way you have been treated as it has been very unfair.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
That is so true Whoopie.
I would love to do something working from home, I don't leave the girls with anyone we have no family so its my husband who looks after them when he gets in from work. I keep racking my brains for something to do to bring a little income in but the brain cells are dead. Something will turn up I am sure.
I will have a word with my friend who works in personnel for a local government see what she thinks.0 -
rayday - as if we'd judge you for that
Sometimes you need to weigh up if any money is worth the stress and threat to your health.
And erm.... see my post on Monday on the bankruptcy board...

.... and I get paid a lot more than youworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Thanks for sharing that post.
Its not so much judging it just sounds a bit much being in a DMP and having the "luxury" to give work up. I need to get my head round where bits of spending go but I have a feeling thats down to me sssh don't tell hubby! So I will rein things in. Also hubby has a week off soon so I can go to the job centre and look its useless using there online search I put my choices in and it comes up with jobs in Inverness and Plymouth! Why no one moans about that I don't know!
Good luck with what you decide, I do keep juggling with the idea of full time work but my children just aren't quite old enough. But my time will come and the years march by too quickly so who knows! I hope the same is for you, something more viable coming up not old age
Thanks again0 -
I felt bad posting that - I've never planned to go bankrupt and always felt I should pay the debt back. It may never happen, but I just needed to know if it was a possible way out of my job
fish4jobs website is fairly good - although again the areas it gives you can be a bit outside your requestworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Well its not like your planning it, its just keeping options open which I can understand.
I like to find out all the what could happens and possabilities in life. Our debt is joint so we can't do bankrupcy without risking our home and we are bottom of the property ladder with not so much rental possabilties in the area.
Well hopefully all the life stuff will be as easy to cope with as the finance stuff with less work worries - heres hoping!0
