Arden I sent token payments of £2 to all my creditors.
Nothing in the post today and no calls so a good day.February 2013 NSD - 40 -
Afternoon folks.
I thought I would let you know the outcome of my official complaint to Nat West CC regarding their extortionate interest/charges.
I received a letter from them today and they have put a stop to interest/charges and refunded those already taken!
They have also issued a Default but we were expecting this and it is now finally being passed to collections.
This does prove that if you are prepared to do some work yourself and complain, you can get results!*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Well done Whoopie! We are all a force to be reckoned with!
Well I have been lying low a bit and I think I should probably lie low a bit longer after what I say next.
I am really struggling with work, I spend so much time out of hours unpaid doing things and the job gets me £180 a month. As some of you will know we are in temporary premises, number of young people has dropped in one week from 22 to 7. Area manager came to see us when I was ill and called me lazy. Now I am not the supervisor but I do all the accounts, banking, shopping, typing, programme planning etc etc so to be called lazy when there are others sitting round the table who do nothing took the biscuit.
I am trying to justify myself here because I plan on giving up work, I know it is very tactless when people are struggling and we will certainly have to buckle up. Last week was my first of two weeks off (I had to have these weeks off as other two youth workers are off so don't even get chance to choose my holidays) anyway the change in me last week was dramatic I was cooking properly, enjoying the girls, spending quality time and felt much more able to cope with everything life throws at me. This week I am down again knowing I have work again. I got left some paperwork to do by the supervisor two hours before he caught his plane. When I looked at it half is missing and he obvioiusly never checked it and I know I will be in trouble for not completing it.
I am really sorry if this offends some people I appreciate it does seem a bit much in a DMP topic talking of giving up work and I will look for something else but for now I feel it has to be a job that I can leave at work rather than bring home.0 -
No arguments here Rayday. By the sounds of it, if you stay there too much longer you will have to be carted off to the funny farm and will be no good to your family, us or your creditors (in order of importance)
If you have evidence to all of this bad work stuff, I would suggest that you resign/go on long term sick and sue for constructive dismissal.0 -
Rayday - give the job up as soon as you can! It's not worth it for the money you come out with. You help us all on here which you don't get paid for but you've pulled us all through some hard times and then you go to work again to help others, at least we all thank you for your time and advice. It doesn't sound like you're appreciated at work.
I understand if it's a wrench giving up your job, you went into it for all the right reasons (to help others) but at the end of the day you aren't getting the support you need from co-workers. I've just got a job after looking after my kids for 6 years but I know if it's not the job for me I can tighten the old purse strings again and stay at home until something else comes up.
It's only people who aren't in our position who might be offended but then it's not their life and they can go and preach to someone who cares!DMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110 -
Couldn't read and not comment Rayday, that's awful about the dwindling numbers of young people
Your supervisor sounds like a bit of a !!!!!!. And for £180, I think you'll find another part-time job easily, it's about eight hours at minimum wage.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Hi All,
My phone/broadband/line rental is £58 a month with BT and Im tied into a contract which I can't get out of, and my mobile is £25 a month until feb 09 when I'm considering PAYG although Im not sure this will be any cheaper?
I've changed my Virgin deal (Cable, Phone & Broadband) quite often, and they're normally quite good if you phone up to try and make changes to it. Obv that may not be the case with BT, and I can't remember if I'm on a rolling contract with that.
The same goes with the Mob, but often the cheaper deals, aren't that good. In my situation I was paying about 25 quid and got 200 Texts n mins. Tried to come down to a £20 deal (cheapest they'd do) and they offered 100 texts and 50 mins. Depends how much you use the phone. I've done that while in a contract, without signing up to a new one.
PAYG depends on the deals. Some of them are good if you top up regularly, extra texts and so on. I'll be changing over to a Virgin only deal, £10 a month for SIM only, with 200 texts and mins. Pretty good I thought.
I had quite a productive day. Got my car through it's MOT, :j And the dentist didn't turn out as expensive as I thought it would be (Just a clean & polish, when I thought I had a cracked tooth!). I also applied for a basic account instore with the Co-Operative bank, after they turned me down for a regular current account, so fingers crossed.
Not so good is my Unauthorised Overdraft fee this month. I've always managed to avoid them (by spending on credit. ). I went £85 overdrawn through 2 DDs (3 days before payday), and they charged me £8 Advanced Interest, £60 in Overdraft Request fees, and £25 for an "Instant Overdraft Monthly fee". So £93 in total.

Perfectly clean but leaves the reader in little doubt as to the real meaning!
I shall use this
I can't take the credit for it, it was coined by Linda on a Daily Chat thread but isn't it perfectNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Thanks Ianmak.
Ive rung both Orange and BT and am tied in contracts and no budge on the packages either. I can renew/upgrade my contract in November or it ends in Feb so I'll see what they offer me (if I leave orange and go elsewhere Im unlikely to get another contract with all 3-tonne of defaults on my file). hey ho!
My cccs advisor didnt manage to get back to me but it may be she is away. I'll try again tomorrow.
Rayday - You do not deserve the !!!!!! youre getting! Ive been in both your position and your area managers in what sounds like a similar environment (mine was supported living and domicillary care for adults with autism) and there is NO excuse to call an employe lazy or treat you like that - especially as clearly you are doing above and beyond your job spec.
I know how bloody awful you must feel but before you leave, take it higher than the area manager and make an official complaint. If you want advice on working anything pm me because this is damned unfair - grrr! i hope things pick up for you soon hun xMSE-ing since 20070
