My old TomTom ran through a Palm organiser...

That brings back memories! I still have my Psion 5MX with Palmtop's Route Planner Software (Palmtop latter changed its name to Tomtom) however, I've misplaced the GPS antennae so I can't get it working properly. The maps must be so inaccurate now!

    To 'answer' my own query.
I am returning the MyGuide 3218 as I have had problems. The unit (based on Windows CE (or Windows Mobile and Turbodog mapping) became slower and slower until it was almost impossible to use! I have looked at other lower price deals and they all seem to be based on the same OS and so I suspect will have similar problems. If anyone has better experience on the MyGuide or similar then I would be pleased to discuss.

I have used a lot of Sat navs in previous work and the Tomtom always comes out top.The binatone and the RAC one that Halfords sell were shocking. It is worth paying the extra to get a TOMTOM every single time in my opinion.

I have used a few TomTom and Garmin were the best, I'm using the TomTom since last year and it is excellent. I have to say the only other good Sat-Nav I had was a Medion (Aldi) one which was surprisingly excellent- but it lacked updating and speed cameras which later models gained.

    Hi,

an anyone tell me if they have the TomTom One Europe 31 GPS Sat Nav System? I may possibly be buying one and just wanted some feedback on it. Also do you automatically get traffic info with it or do u have to pay for it as an add on? (details on the web are very minimal and unclear).

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I'm considering buying the Garmin nuvi 205WT since I've read some good reviews on it and I don't want to spend a furtune. It is also widescreen and includes traffic updates. Best online prices I've found are:
    • £126.48 @ Amazon
    • £117.00 @ Pixmania + £5.90 delivery
    • £109.99 @ mynewcheap.co.uk
Anyone used mnc? I've read some mixed reviews about them, mostly not good.

Seems that Tomtom products are the way to go...I noticed this site which seems very useful to compare units side by side - Tomtoms and others (including refurbs)...
