Not had a sat nav before but i just bought a reduced medion gopal from sainsburys today - £29.99 with a years warranty, it works ok and seems easy to use. I've been on the medion website and it looks like i can buy all europe maps for £21 on a dvd.0

I own a NAVMAN iCN 330 Satnav which I purchased years ago. Recently while on holiday in Manchester I found that ther were MANY errors so on return I contacted Navman via the internet and asked where I could get an updated chip. After MANY Emails to Navman Support I was told that there was NO SOFTWARE SUPPORT for my Navman since a new company has now taken over MITAC Corporation and they have decided to phase out support for ALL OLDER EQUIPMENTS.
During the Email conversations I was offered a new Satnav at a DISCOUNT PRICE of £179.00
I asked if there was going to be ongoing software support for this new model and I was basically told NO
I kindly refused their extortionate offer.
If you have a Navman Satnav DO NOT EXPECT ANY SOFTWARE UPDATES OR SUPPORT AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME

I have heard this company is going in to administration or has already gone into administration, which would mean any problems you wouldnt be able to sort out, or get updates etc????0

I use one of these - the dearer one with bluetooth and fm transmission to play it through the radio (MP3 player). I discovered it has the same operating system as TomTom if you want to run it that way. You can downoad TomTom Navigation maps and camera alerts onto it - which basically turns it into a TomTom Sat Nav.
Great little machine - but to make the price up to £50 buy a second windscreen holder for it - I broke mine and had to get another one - far better to carry a spare.
Cheers
