  • I finally got my paper statement. As stated previously, I was lucky enough to get a refund - the date on my statement is 09/06/08 (I asked 06/06/08).

    Surely with the Bank freezing the Bank Account - There is no chance of Zavvi being able to give anyone a refund, if applying after 08/06/08 - the bank won't let the money leave (hence Frozen Bank Account).

    Guess I asked just in time. Still don't think they are a genuine site, but it would have been better if Protx had also responded by blocking any more payments instead of feeding money into a holding account - It knew the bank had frozen the account. Now Debit card users are in for a difficult time getting money back.

    Good news from NatWest. A spokesperson has just told me that all RBS cardholders (credit or debit) will get refunds automatically within a week or so, no need to take any further action.

  • Hi onlyconnect, can you suggest who would be the most appropriate person within Natwest to speak to? I have filled out a chargeback form and I am now awaiting a response however, if I can chase the money then it would be good to know who to speak to.

    If you can bear it, I would do nothing for a week. I was told refunds should reach your account by then. If you still have nothing after that, you will have a good case as the bank has stated that refunds will be made.

  • Thanks Tim, I will wait a week for a refund then. Any concrete evidence that the bank has said refunds will be made or was it verbal confirmation? It will help if I don't get a refund. Thanks again.

  • To all that bank with Natwest.... I ordered on the 9th June from zavvi direct and checked my bank today and have received a full refund yesterday :-). A big thank you to all who helped with information regarding this issue, especially Dinah and Tim.
