no word on if anyone will get a wii fit - but brighton police called me and are now actively investigating, interviewing the people named - even if it is ID theft they have to do this - and looking at possible link I unearthed to best sports world scam

v good news is the funds were frozen by ZD's acquiring bank after protx alerted them to the number of complaints - this was on 8 June which is good news for a lot of people

Does this mean that protx will be able to give refunds if goods dont appear (which is seeming more and more likely)

I ordered a Wii Fit through Zavvi Direct on 11/06/08, have asked for a refund, still no money been put in my account.

If Protx have frozen their account, then how do we go about getting a refund from them, have e-mailed protx a few times but not had much luck!! They don't seem interested!!!

On the brighter side managed to get a Wii Fit from my local Gamestation today!!

Ok I hoped the link to the story would have explained it better -but essentially what this means is that the acquiring bank gets you your refund- I don't know which bank this is as I have not been allowed to know (but will try to find out as they have been asked to contact me by protx) but it is the one through which ZD was able to get merchant facility services - ie protx in this case....
this acquiring bank is the one which does the check on ZD not protx.. anyway protx alerted them and this bank froze payments to ZD biz account - an abbey national bank in glasgow....this means from 8 june although money has been taken from customers it has not been given to ZD.. ((before this yes probably)) - so it is still there - frozen until people either get their goods or it is proved they will not - protx is not legally allowed to give you a refund - you have to contact your card issuer and get them to contact the acquiring bank to get what is called a chargeback.. ie your money - they can find out the bank thro protx. hope this clarifies issues - sorry if I didn't explain it properly

That's all well and good for those that paid via their credit cards. Those of us that paid using Maestro cards are stuffed. Natwest - my bank just wants to walk away.:wall:

    Best regards,

Well it's been 4 or 5 days since Friday 20th.. the magic day when Zavvi direct take delivery of wii fit boards the same wii fit boards no reputable stores can get hold of!! Why did I order from this site? Thought I was clever, what a complete muppet I am now £70 down and still need to find a wii fit for my wifes birthday in early July...Not going to happen and even worse "happy birthday dear I lost 70 hard earned quid!!!"

  • Those of us that paid by debit card will get a refund - yes or no. I paid by Visa Debit, does this mean I am covered and can get a chargeback if no goods arrive? If I cannot get a refund and Protx have not handed any money over or it is still with ZD's bank, do they keep MY money?????
