Ah I'm soooo sick. My head has been buzzing with all of this hoo haa... I called my bank today (First Direct) and she very polite but adamant that I would not get a refund in anyway shape or form because I paid by Maestro! Should I just write this off or is it worth hammering my head into the wall anymore!!!0

hi, i have been in contact with my bank (HSBC) and they sent me a form to sign to authorise that i did not participate in the teransaction but if i give a false statement i would be prosecuted. i sent them a letter along with this unsigned form explaining the details of the transaction, along with all the useful posts on here, such as Dinah's findings.
they then rang me and informed me that my card been lost/ stolen, which it hadn't as it was in my wallet as i was on the phone to the guy, he said that he would send me more information on the matter yet all they sent me was another copy of the form that i did not sign, trying to get me to lie about my card being stolen and me not participating in the transaction, yet stating that if i do lie i will be prosecuted. shall i fight my case? what should i do?
many thanks in advance..Charlie0 -

I would keep pestering them until you speak to someone who understands what you need to do.
Different banks seem to be dealing differently, many have had refunds already. I'm still waiting to hear from my bank after writing a couple of weeks ago, although someone with the same bank on the forum got confirmation of the refund in about a week.
If you don't get any luck speaking to someone I'd put in a complaint as other banks seem to be managing to deal with it.0 -
Any one had any luck with Nationwide? I filled in a Visa dispute form over a month ago but have yet to hear anything!0

Hiya Lei
I would get down to your local branch asap and ask them what going on with your claim...don't bother with calling them.
Good luck0 -
I paid by HSBC credit card, and spent 35 minutes on the phone with them the other day, trying to get them to reclaim the money from protx. As it's a transaction that I do actually recognise on my statement, they have to deal with it differently from if it were sometihng I didn't recognise. Fingers crossed!C'mon you Canaries!!0

Result! I was going to pop into the branch during lunch today but when I checked my account I have a correction credited from 12th July. Good luck to the rest of you!0 -
