Pennyphone recently announced in this forum that they will charge only 1 pence per minute to call India onwards 31st of Ocober as a special Deepavali offer. Today is 31st. I have tried a couple of times. They are leading to another number which cost 7 pence.0

The great Deepawali offer from pennyphone now working. It is amazing to see that you could call to India for 1p. The clarity to make a land line is really awfull. You can rarely talk, always missing the line. But calling to a mobile seems really wonderful. Just 1 pence, absolutely marvellous.0

Penny phone ended their Deepawali offer of 1p to call India in two days.
Now you have to pay 6 pence for land line and 5 pence for mobile! It could again change as they are doing it normally. Clarity is still not very good.
Please correct the call checker.0 -
i can call Cyprus for a 1p a min to a mobile fantastic and thank-you. Anybody know the cheapest way for a Cypriot registered mobile to call England or even from an Cypriot landline?0

hi
I've tried loads of different providers where you simply dial. My general impression is that they are rubbish. If you manage to get a line at all the quality is more often than not useless.
So I signed up with easy-dial.com which requires an account, but is dead simple to use and I have never had a problem with getting a line. They did have some quality issues earlier this year, but this seems to have been resolved. You can assign specific phone numbers so you don't have to enter your account number and pin when calling from those numbers. They also have 0800, 0870 and a standard london number if you're using your included minutes from your mobile.
If you don't want to spend more than an absolute minimum then https://www.voipbuster.com is what you need. Obviously it requires a broadband connection and that you put €5 in their account but then you never pay again. The quality of the lines are excellent as well...

You have to pay them in advance for the priviledge of calling their expensive rates .UK via 020 access number 1.5p a minute UK mobiles from 15p a minute peak.
Try 1899,18185 much better on the pocket, and its a short code access.0
