Try 1899,18185 much better on the pocket, and its a short code access.
eg - from inclusive UK minutes
calling Germany for 5 minutes
6.5p with 18185 from BT
9.0p with 18185 from ntl or mobile
9.5p with easy-dial
9.6p with Bizon
4.5p with Nobelcom
USA for 5 min
6.5p with 18185 from BT
14 p with 18185 from ntl or mobile
8.0p with 1899 from ntl or mobile
7.5p with easy-dial

I was talking about using from a landline,not a mobile,or a phonecard.
If i was calling either of the two destinations you mentiomed i would use https://www.telesavers.co.uk 0844 861 57 57 just 1p a min.Making a 5 min call 5p.0 -
Ok, the confusion arose from the London number, and I wasn't thinking very straight. The Callchecker is obviously intended mainly for landline use, and apart from O2 mobile's 0844 access and 07744 providers, call charges are usually higher from some mobiles.0

I've just checked the rates listed to Thailand and found that MyMondo.co.uk is cheaper for phoning Thailand and other destinations than some of the other services listed.
My Mondo has just lowered its rates for most of its destinations.0 -

That's more expensive than 17 (seventeen) of the others on the Callchecker.
As a double check, I had a look for their price to Spain and found it to be 4p/minute. That's more expensive than 19 (nineteen) of the others on the Callchecker and eight times more than the cheapest.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Hello Martin
Have you gone off call 18866? I can find scant mention of them now in the international call checker. eg Cyprus land line calls 3p per min and mobiles 5p per min., Poland and Australia - both land 2p and mobiles 15p per min. are all within the rates quoted. I know that for 18866 it is now a 4p connection charge, but that is a drop in the ocean for most calls.

Hi geefer,
Each provider's prices are updated on a nightly basis so that we keep the CallChecker accurate.
However, it looks during last night's update the call 18866 website was unavailable to serve the web page request that we made.Their prices were therefore removed from the CallChecker.
I've now checked their web-site, and as it is up and working, have re-added their prices to the CallChecker.
Thanks,
MSE CallChecker AdminI look after the CallChecker and FlightChecker.

as someone who is new to all this could you please tell me how to use my mobile pay as you go on the 02 tariffs when we go to tenerife next year do i have to register with any company first yours dave0

What the call checker needs is an option where you are dialling from a mobile to another country. I currently use Planet Talk. They are not the cheapest, but they provide a standard 020 number I can use, so I do not get ripped off by Vodafone charging me for calling an 08 number.0

HOWEVER, calls will be very expensive (to receive as well as to make).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
