I used the checker to find the cheapest way to phone a mobile phone in NZ and itworked fine for a week or so. Now it stopped working. I have tried several companies and they are all the same. The problem is after connecting to the company number OK I then dial the mobile number and the line goes silent. The only companies I can get it to work are One Tell and BT (my line providor) I use this dailly so please help if you can. The mobile was bought in NZ. Could someone be blocking the number from receiving my call? I have Emailed a couple of companies but with no luck.0

Hello I am very new to this, My Girlfriend is in NZ and has bought a mobile phone there, I need to call her using either my orange or 3 mobile phone, both of which have inclusive minutes, can anyone tell me the best way to contact her - uk mobile to nz mobile??? Thanks0

Rikin, I think you will need to find out from your mobile provider(s) what it will cost to call an 0844 number which is the cheapest company listed in Callchecker at 5p per minute for calling a New Zealand mobile, PLUS the charge your mobile company charges. These vary enormously!! Hope this helpsBe ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

Hi,
I’m in the market looking for a cheap way to make international calls from China. I came across this site https://www.netcallback.com. Does anyone here know how their service works? I like their rates (6 cents USD per minute) but I want to know if they are good 1st. Please let me know. Thanks.0 -
Hi all!
I am regularly using the Call Checker and when I was calling from a BT landline I never had problems.
But recently I moved and the provider is ntl and cant switch : the problem is most of the cheaper numbers are not accessible and I hear a message like "Unfortunately due to capacity problems it is currently not possible to make a call ...."
Any solutions please???Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

My son lives in Denver, and I use nomi-phone.com, a pre-pay international phone service. Calls to either his home-phone, OR his American mobile only cost 2p per minute, and the quality of the call is excellent. In two years we have never had any trouble using this service.0

PLEASE check out the many CHEAPER options the MSE International CallChecker brings up.
BTW, Calls to USA landlines and USA mobiles cost the same via any of those offerings too.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. In trawling the Call Checker thread, I find that my question has been asked before but can find no definitive answer.
I telephone overseas numbers via 0844 numbers on a Virgin landline. Costs from the sites for South Korea and Brazil for instance are said to be 1p and 1.5p/minute respectively. However on recieving my bill from Virgin I find that with VAT they are more like £1.00/minute.
Are Virgin blocking the numbers and re-directing the call via their network?
I have no problem accessing the 0844 number or dialling the overseas number after they give me the dial tone.
So what the h... is going on?0
