Haier washing machines

I bought a Hairer Dishwasher just under 12 months ago. I can't recommend it enough, especially since is only cost something like £159 at the time. Its very quiet, cleans well, and has plenty of programmes to choose from.
So did I, it nearly 18 months old now, and has just stopped making hot water, so it not washing properly. Anyway, I substituted buying a more expensive machine for buying the Total Product Cover insurance (I haven't had much luck with Dishwashers over the last 5 years) so an engineer is coming soon to look at it.
Bit worried, as all of this doesn't sound very optisitic, but we shall see.0 -
So grateful for this forum!. I was tempted to get a Haier after Comet deemed my trusty Blomberg as 'uneconomical to repair'. It only needed brushes in the motor but Engineers nowadays live in a throwaway society. Went to purchase the Haier but, fortunately, it was out of stock - sigh of relief having read of smoking, burning rubber etc! Have now gone for the Candy GO482 and crossing fingers! Comet originally offered me £104 towards the smallest, nastiest Beko - 5kg with 1000 spin as a 'suitable' replacement for my 6kg 1300 spin German made Blomberg. 9 weeks later, having had every machine we liked listed as out of stock we had had enough - we went to Comet on Monday and got a girl there to phone D & G whilst we were in store. We decided on the only machine they seemed to have in stock - the Candy (not sure of this but evidently it is made by Hoover).
Long story short, this machine was £249, but we only had to pay £81 including delivery as Petra at Comet in Stevenage read them the riot act!
I will never use D & G again. I purchased a Kenwood Titanium Major and took out a 5 years waranty, whilst arguing about my washing machine, I asked them "if my Major broke down and was beyond economical repair, what would you offer"? They stated that my Major was not on their list, so would offer me a basic Kenwood Chef, needless to say, I cancelled the insurance.
You get a 1 year guarantee anyway, so paying for 5 years is rubbish as you only, actually get 4 years for the price of 5!
Candy is being delivered on Sunday (15th) will keep you informed!0 -
Why o why didn't I check out bloody Haier washing machines on here before buying one... only saw this thread today whilst browsing the forum.
We had our machine delivered from Comet on Monday and now having read this thread I'm wondering if it's safe to leave it on when we're out... if the sparks and smoke thing is anything to go by I really don't want to be leaving it to potentially harm our dogs that are left in the same room as it!
What are my rights regarding a change of mind in such a short time... I'm away at work at the mo so haven't even seen the machine yet but have been told that it does seem to bleep a lot at random times - is this the beginning of a fault on it???0 -
You can't exchange it because you dont like the comments on this forum, but the second it goes wrong (like tomorrow - judging by the comments on this forum) go back to where you bought it and quote the 'Sale of Goods Act' - 'The machine is not suitable for the purpose for which it was intended'. Don't be fobbed off by the offer of a repair. Ignore the 'we will only offer a refund within 28 days' too. If the machine doesn't do the job, you are entitled to a replacement. A washing machine, however cheap, should be good for at least a year with normal useage.
It is obvious by the postings on here that Haier have an 'inherent fault' with their machines, that's another avenue to go down! If you can prove (and with the comments on this forum there is sufficient proof) that these machines have an inherent fault, you'll have no probs getting a replacement.0 -
So phone call from Comet on Saturday, can't deliver the Candy until at least the 24th (having paid for express delivery 1-2 days) as they have a 'problem' with Candy supplies. Now 10 weeks without a machine and what will happen on the 24th? Went to Comet yesterday and re-ordered a Zanussi - in stock - delivery tomorrow - I hope! Spoke to the salesman about the Haier and he stated, quietly, 'don't touch it with a bargepole'! So glad it was out of stock when we originally went to get a new machine!0

I had an independent report carried out on the machine which identified the fault was down to the PCB and was an inherent fault with the machine.
I sent a letter to comet along with the report however they have got back in touch today and said they still want to charge for one of their engineers to come out and check the machine.
So much for them sticking to the sales of goods act. I proved the fault is inherent by getting an independent report, and they are still ignoring it.0 -
Oh what a giggle! I got my Zanussi which was delivered on Tuesday 17th November as a replacement machine as the Candy was out of stock! - 24h November, commet turned up with another machine - The original Candy I ordered!! These washing machines are like busses, wait 11 weeks and two turn up together!0

i had a washing machine engineer out this morning for my LG (delivery men dropped it and damaged it now its leaking)
we were talking about washing machines and all of a sudden he said dont ever buy a Haier!! (i never mentioned it)
he said he has been called to so many that he has lost count and they were the worst machines hes ever seen, he said common fault was the powerboard. best machine he reckons is Miele and Bosch are good, sadly he said LG are no good either.0 -
Although it sounds like I've been lukier than most I've had my machine for 18 months. on sunday we did a load and it came out dripping wet. Then our lodger put a dye load in which leaked all over the floor. Now its making a funny noise, I'm not in warranty and I can't find a repair man to come and look at it. I feel I was missold this machine as I was told that comet had hotpoint machines returned more often. I'm thinking that was a lie!!!0

DO NOT BUY THESE!!! So wish i'd read reviews before I bought one in an emergency!!
Bought machine 3rd Dec 2009, week leading up to 31st Jan 2010 had a few unbalanced errors which I rectified myself
31st Jan - ERROR 8, needed engineer out. The machine had been jumping violently round the kitchen completely out from under the worktop
4th Feb - Engineer out to fix ERROR 8 problem, replaces digital box behind screen
13th Feb onwards notice small puddles on the kitchen floor after final spin, arrange another engineer
18th Feb - Engineer is in my kitchen for approx 20 seconds, says the machine is a write off. The drum has dropped or something, basically agreed with the fact these machines are poop. Am awaiting call from comet with a ref number I can take to shop and get a completely DIFFERENT brand machine. Don't care how much extra it costs.
STAY AWAY FROM HAIER!!!!! Mine lasted 76 days! (Including the week it was out of action with ERROR 8)0
