Haier washing machines

Well I have had my Haier washing machine nearly 3 years now and can honestly say it's the best washing machine I've ever had (and the cheapest)
Had no problems with it at all,it does everything it's meant to,has loads of programmes, clothes don't take long to dry when they've been taken out and it's much much better than the bigger brands I've had in the past.If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Christ, that must be a common fault with the Haiers then, the unbalanced code.
I feel sorry for the people on the helpline, they must get inundated with phone calls!
I saw one in Comet not so long ago, and I wasnt impressed. They say first impressions count and they sure do. First of all the instruction manual was made of paper thin enough to see through (remember Izal bog roll from school!) it was practically the same thing. If they cant even be bothered to use real paper, then the machines going to be rubbish. The detergent drawer was very flimsy, it didnt even open and close straight, and the door hinge well, Bacofoil would of been a stronger material!
What a waste of resources and even £160!!
Compare that to a Miele, and you see £600 well spent on a quality product, a stainless steel outer tub, cast iron drum supports, direct enamel paneling and a metal door with a hinge guaranteed for life speaks volumes to me!
I found this too, they cant even be bothered to check their grammer and spelling on their website, you have to sort of read it in a Chinglish accent!!:

Quite amusing really! :rotfl:
I've had the unbalanced code twice in nearly 3 years.
All it means is the washing is unbalanced and you need to sort it.
It's actually simple and not an actual fault.Mine when it happened it was bedding. The wash had finished and it was 'unbalanced' and very wet.Just untangling the sheets from the duvet cover restored the balance (the weight being all chucked together due to being tangled-common with bedding, put it in a tumble dryer and you will see it tangle inside itself) and put it on spin again.
Unbalanced just means you need to untangle it (ie get sheets out of the duvet they have slipped into) so the weight can be chucked around and distributed in the machine and it comes out dryer.
Now that's hardly a big issue is it.All machines I've had the bedding has come out wetter and tangled. Now I just make sure it doesn't happen so the wash isn't unbalancedIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Bought mine from Argos, seemed like a good deal ! Now 6 mths on its starting to cause me daily problems.
1) Clothes come out wet.
2) Spin only cycle does not spin.
3) Motor is very noisy.
Argos sent their service team out, confirmed a faulty PCB, went away to obtain the correct part and never returned. Lots of communication but nofixed date for repair.
Does anyone have a product recall or detailed known problems that can be posted on this thread

HELP!!!
my 2 year old Haier Washing machines door fell off this morning!!!!
its no longer in warenty so would you advise me to get a new door or a new 'other branded' washing machine??? dont really have the money to buy a new one at the moment ....any suggestions??
Thanks :0)0 -
Get a new door. When the door fell off our Bosch, it cost about £15 for a new door, and we screwed it in ourselves. Nice and easySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Thought I add my 2 pence.
We bought a haier from Argos.
It broke on the second wash.
The machine cost us £100. The repair guy said the bill was £600 and argos would rather pay that than give me a new one so he faked not being able to get the parts
We added the extra money to get a whirlpool. No probs so far with that.
I notice argos dont sell Haier anymore though.0 -
Haier are a Chinese brand and are garbage. Stick with Miele, Bosch or AEG/Siemens if you want a proper washing machine.
Ha! Well my Bosch must be an exception to the rule then , we've pretty much had every part replaced under an extended warranty since we've had the thing:mad: We had an Ariston which lasted for 10 years before that :cool:Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0 -
I bought one of these in August from Argos, it lasted about 3 days when it completely flooded the kitched and gave me error after error message, I rang the warrenty people on the warrenty card and they sent out a "refrigeration engineer"!! who stated he was a refrigeration engineer so would have to contact the office to arrange a washing machine engineer to come out, over a week later and loads of clothes piling up, we finally got one who said it needed so many parts including the main electric board system that he would report it to Argos that he recommended it be replaced, another week or so I had Argos on the phone not for the first time but for the many and told them I would report them to trading standards (which I did) they promised to deliver another one which they did the week after and the men who came complained because the other one was still plumbed in and they had to mess about turning the water off!!
I got the other one shrink wrapped which I had to replumb in myself (I know it isn't hard but what if I was disabled or something?)
anyway two days later it went beserk jumping all over the kithen, shook so hard it took my kitchen top away from the wall and went on fire, it was like November the fifth come early, the spin drum glowed red hot and sparks were flying all over, I switched the machine off from the wall and opened the door the smell was awful, my sons clothes had shunk so they will do for my youngest son !!
Anyway I called the warrenty people again (idots or something in that region I called them) and they sent another engineer out for this machine who instantly condemned it and we rang Argos and demanded a new machine (not a Haier one) they said they would have to wait until they got the engineers report but would nmake a note of it, we rang today for an update (they don't tell you anything) and the girl told us that they are sending us a new machine and it will arrive Friday. We went for a Beko because our last one never let us down and the only reason we changed it was the door was broke due to the kids climbing on it to get to the cupboards.
I await their response as I have been using family and launderette machines to get the clothes done(well wife has)
And we are fed up, also for everyone else on here trading standards are looking into it and at least Argos have taken the product off their list.0 -
bought my haier washing machine in sept 2008, was skint at the time and seemed like a good option, cheap and with a 1400 spin.
i can put up with the door needing slamming everytime but am so pi##ed off with the thing not spinning properly (as usual - towels, bedding, not enough in, too much in) that i'm getting rid of it, will be glad to see it go.
proper brand here i come......0 -
Thx for the thread, trusty Candy valiantly struggling to live after 15 years and Haier was one we had seen locally- will be avoiding it I think, when the time comes!0
