it should be fit for purpose! Comet know what they are selling and still continue to do it!0

Hi guys,
My old hoover packed up after 15 years - pump went on it as it was flooded. Getting it fixed would have set me back anything from £50-100 so started looking at last week.
I came across the "Haier" brand at a discount warehouse and they are going for £129 the 1050 spin.
Just need to remember cheap materials, cheap labour = shoddy product. I.e. you get what you pay for. If a washing machine lasts for more than 5 years now its deemed as good. Shame. Thank you all for the warning. Stick to a manufacturer you know already. I'll get another hoover instead.0 -
I had this delivered yesterday - seemed ok on a quick wash but when I select the was cycle 'wash' I have to then manually select the rinse and spin option is that right ? or have I got a fault - have never had to do this on any other machine. u I have read the booklet and cannot see it stated anywhere that you have to do this or do they think everyone washes on a quick wash ??I am totally miffed !:rolleyes:0

not a happy bunny to say the least i bought mine four weeks ago seemed ok up untill yesterday when it would not spin, then i kept getting the warning unb then the timer stopped working!
as i bought it from COMET with a three year warranty i was straight on the phone to be told nothing can be done until an engineer has been out to have a look!
i have an engineer due out on thursday morning let see wot he has to say!
lets just say he wont be fixing it he will be taking it back with him and i will be receiving a full refund.
you dont expect a brand new washer to have a fault in just four weeks my old one lasted for ten years without ever being repaired.0 -
I have just bought one of these Haier washing machines and its utter rubbish. !! We bought it from Comet in Bedford and its been installed about 3 weeks. Over this time it has shown the "unb" code.....failed to spin nearly every time...decided to throw water over the kitchen floor 3 times and now it has a mind of its own when it does a washing program. So after a trip back to Bedford Comet I got a varied response but I did find that the louder you shouted the better the service got. I contacted trading standards via a mobile while standing next to the manager. That appeared to work !! We have an engineer coming to inspect the machine on Thursday this week. Will let you know the outcome.0

Well, I just want to say thank you. Yet again this site has saved me money. I have just been trawling the net for a new washing machine and the Haier brand caught my eye at Argos. Thankfully I thought to check out a few reviews before comitting myself and I'm so pleased I did. Thank you to every one that has posted a review on this brand, it really does pay to spread the word - whether good or bad!0

And thank you too! My washing machine packed up yesterday after 5 yrs. I'm not too sure if it can be fixed as my husband is away and he's the technical one....sometimes! So i've been looking at new ones and did see this and I am so glad I came on here first!!0

Not been rude, but you are being blond lol. Automatics are called an automatic for a reason. They are supposed to wash, rinse and spin in one sequence, not done all manually, so that is faulty.
Think you ought to get a Miele instead people. It'll last longer, a lot longer
Maybe we ought to tell Watchdog about these cheap bits of tat and Comet, and inform everyone?0 -
What a load of .......
Our washing machine broke down and we were in need of a new one asap. My hubby offered to pick one up but whilst he was looking at the haier i made sure he knew i did not want that one because it looked like a heap of .....
He only came back with that exact one! this was on 10 sept 08 it is now 13 nov 08 and i still hate the bloomin thing.
Two days after it was bought it blew up (burning rubber smell, smoke everywhere, flash of electricity in the drum, two round bits of rubber fall out the back and jumped out of its space in the kitchen) - only to be told by a comet engineer there was nothing wrong with it and that it was only the rubber seals from the anti movement bolts at the back which we had obv took out on opening the packaging.
For a few weeks now it has been pouring bubbles and water out of the dispensor drawer (doesn't matter what amount of powder you use or if you use liquitabs). I just thought i was using too much powder or that the liquitabs were a lot stronger up until i read this post.
Had the same engineer out a few days ago cos the machine isn't washing clothes properly and is absolutely stinking when opened, only to be told it's my water pressure. I don't live in a tower block !!!!!!. I'm an upstair tenant in a four in a block house, there's only the ground and first floor. Apparently with some water pressure they cannot rectify it - BULL. (ok maybe if you are in the high flats i can see the point).
I also have the same problem with the machine spinning/draining/rinsing - can't quite put my finger on which, since the clothes are always full of bubbles and ringing wet when the cycle has finished. Also noticed yesterday the UNB fault.
I could really punch my other half for buying the damn thing. I asked him to take it straight back and kept nagging him but has he given in? has he hell.
It's the first item i've let him buy for the kitchen and it will be the last. He obv thinks he is right about this machine and that it's gods gift when it's more like the opposite!
Fizzing isn't a strong enough word for how i feel.
Watchdog sounds like a brilliant Idea! :T both for comet and haier!:mad:0
