Thats ok, but thats a golden oldie. This one was a brand new one, and the newer ones arent that hot in my opinion.
So if Haier are trying to get a foothold in the UK, I dont think they'll get too far to be honest..
And actually, if anyones watching the Olympics, you'll see the Haier brand all over the place, apparently they're sponsoring the Chinese team. Obviously more money than sense :rotfl:
Well done Great Britain anyhow! :j Now 3rd overall!!
Susan, you do realise that that new Hoover is actually a Candy in disguise?
For anyone looking for a decent machine, after reading all the Haier nightmares this looks good value:

hi
yes, i realise that candy, hoover and another name which escapes me at the moment have much the same internal workings but the outer buttons are the nearest to my trusty hoover that packed up after 13yrs!0 -
I think it's just another example of today's build quality in electrical appliances, I bought a Hoover machine that broke down after 3 weeks, I phone currys and said as it was within 28 days of me buying it I wanted it collected and to be able to get a replacement machine. Upshot was I was given an uplift code went to local store and had a replacement zanussi machine delivered later in the week.(only annoyance was they didn't pay for connection which i managed myself.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0

I bought the same haier washer saturday, straight away flooded the kitchen as it had a faulty hose, straight back to get a replacement hose. Second attempt came up with error code 5 on the first wash (lack of water feed) even tho it was full of water, then it has failed to spin giving the unbalanced load code. The only time I got it to spin was when I had nothing in it. Rang up the helpline and as soon as I mentioned it was the washing machine she asked me if it was the that code and laughed! Engineer is due Thursday but reading everything I have on several forums think i'll try and get a refund!0

Christ, that must be a common fault with the Haiers then, the unbalanced code.
I feel sorry for the people on the helpline, they must get inundated with phone calls!
I saw one in Comet not so long ago, and I wasnt impressed. They say first impressions count and they sure do. First of all the instruction manual was made of paper thin enough to see through (remember Izal bog roll from school!) it was practically the same thing. If they cant even be bothered to use real paper, then the machines going to be rubbish. The detergent drawer was very flimsy, it didnt even open and close straight, and the door hinge well, Bacofoil would of been a stronger material!
What a waste of resources and even £160!!
Compare that to a Miele, and you see £600 well spent on a quality product, a stainless steel outer tub, cast iron drum supports, direct enamel paneling and a metal door with a hinge guaranteed for life speaks volumes to me!
I found this too, they cant even be bothered to check their grammer and spelling on their website, you have to sort of read it in a Chinglish accent!!:

never occurred to us not get a refund, we boxed it up took it straight back to comet and exchanged the machines both times albeit on day of purchase!0 -
Mine is getting the motor and circuit board replaced on Thursday (i bought it on 1st May).
It will be getting overworked Thursday and Friday judging by the overflowing washing basket!!
If it goes again, am I within my rights to tell them to take it away, and exchange it for a more reliable one??:beer:0 -

Yes you are, if the bloody thing (sorry, being from Yorkshire, I cant help it)isnt fit for purpose you should demand to get your money back and depending on your budget stretch to something much more reliable. If need be, go somewhere else from Comet. Probably happening sometime soon, knowing that machine.
I would suggest John Lewis, I've read very good reviews of their customer service, unlike Currys and Comet that refuse the customer as soon as they have bought something, all they want to do is sell sell sell, without giving a damn to the customer. In one of the previous post the salesman told them Haier was american. What?! Thats either mis-trained or lying and both of them are wrong.0 -
Hello everyone. As much as i believe in saving money, i also believe the old adages of 'you get what you pay for' and 'buy cheap buy twice'. You cant buy a highly mechanical device such as a washing machine for £159, just like Argos's HEC and Haier offerings, thats common sense really. I'm also dubious about Beko offerings and even brands such as Hotpoint, Servis, Indesit and Zanussi are seriously unreliable. My aunts new Zanussi, flooded the utility just after it was installed, needless to say it was replaced by Currys pretty sharpish.
The only brand i've found which you can really rely on is definitely a Miele. Expensive yes, but unlike the Haier tat, they're quality German engineered and won't break down within a week.
I've had an AEG for six trouble-free years, and my parents have done well with their Zanussi. Both are Electrolux these days, though.
http://http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/buying-washing-machines.html makes for a useful read. The writer's preferred brands are Miele and ISE, or Tricity Bendix if you're looking for a 'disposable' washer. I'm coming round to that point of view myself, in that my AEG will probably cost nearly as much as a Miele to repair if/when it fails, but probably won't last as long.0
