I think Al Mac's method is probably the simplest: if a list is started here it almost gives the spammers more attention, doesn't it?Signature removed for peace of mind0

Find SPAM
Report it
Post that you've reported it.
No one else should then report that one. Look for others and post the reply there as well, no need to report again.
Could those nice straightforward, simple guidelines be posted as a sticky somewhere on the site? There are still so many people who post 'this is spam' and then they dont say if they have reported. I saw one thread yesterday and a spammer had 16 replies:mad:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

This site now has a HUGE number of members - maybe it's time there were paid moderators, as the spam problems are way beyond the control of the Abuse team, with the time they have available. As things stand, it just gets increasingly irritating having to wade through all the spam posts.Butlers1982 wrote: »Things like this have been discussed many times on here- in the correct place- the discussion forum.
Thing is Spammers are ALWAYS going to exist and they will find ways of getting round what ever is put in front of them
But you also need to appreciate that the Mods do not get paid for the work they do, therefore if they had to look at each newbie it could potentially become a lot of work. The other part to that is there are genuine newbies, what if they want to post an excellent grabbit- but it has to be checked first and the mods are available 24/7- the website could miss out on a good offer0 -
